I think Pokémon has lasted longer than it should have, but it's still a great series. I still play my Pokémon Red game and enjoy it.

Pokemon is just as fun as it was when I was a teenager collecting the trading cards and playing the video games. Pokemon is recognizable everywhere in the world...I think that alone says something.. I <3 Pokemon!

Pokemon had a sizable impact on television, trading card games (ha Magic the Gathering), video games, etc. I may not enjoy the new games as much, however, the first three generations were/are gold.

I put overrated for sure, however it has lost so much popularity after the indigo show season and even more of a drop after johto, no one in my age range like it after that and it really holds no true popularity like Magic the Gathering or other classic cartoons or classic video games like mario brothers does. The original pokemon yellow and Crystal from GBC will always be a great memory sitting in the living room starting a new game with friends but it really is a thing of the past. I play them 1 hour a week at the most for nostalgic purposes but other than that pokemon has no real feature unless Nintendo tries to remake the original GBC for the Wii with new features, would be possible if they actually had a decent design team like Chris Metzen as a lead.
