This is a tough choice for me, considering I thought both were awesome. In the first L4D I liked the characters a lot and the gameplay was fun but I thought there weren't enough weapons. In L4D2 there were more weapons, good gameplay, but the characters weren't as cool IMO. Overall I guess I'd pick L4D2 considering it's the gameplay that matters the most. What do you think?

I too liked the characters in the original Left 4 Dead better, and I liked the weapons on Left 4 Dead 2 better.

The levels in the two are about even in my opinion as far as the fun to play them (except Heavy Rain, I don't like it. lmao)

The addition of the melee weapons, new guns, extra grenades (love the Boomer bile bomb), and extra features such as the laser sight add-ons makes Left 4 Dead 2 a better game in my honest opinion.

I've played it on PC, not Xbox, but I don't think that matters. I'd go with Left 4 Dead 2, simply because it's an updated version of the game. Both are similar, but L4D2 probably has better everything (except characters). I prefer the infected team anyway.
