Thank you. If y'all know who Robert Kiyosaki is, I met him yesterday and got his input on the other project, as far as the financials of it... Got some helpful information out of him, so that was good. ![]() I've got a couple things to say about the laziness deal, but I'll have to address that later. ![]() ![]() I've got a couple things to say about the laziness deal, but I'll have to address that later. ![]() |

OK, I'm back... Here's a link in case you DON'T know who multibillionaire investor Robert Kiyosaki is... It was really awesome to get to meet him. ![]() Now, about the laziness... Nobody is lazy when it comes to something they're excited about, so that's what needs to be on your mind when you go into talking to someone about the petition: get them excited about it. Our website can do a decent job of that, not only with the coolness of the Flash, but with the kinda "stirring" descr Vash, I'm insulted! ![]() The only reason I went to such lengths to correct you on that was because people so often confuse network marketing with pyramids, what with getting paid on those below you and all. That's the toughest part of doing network marketing, that people usually just go "Duuhhhhhrrr, well that thar's a pyramid, duuuuhhhh!" And then they stop listening. If people can figure out what a pyramid scheme really IS, it'll make my job a LOT easier!!! (And by the way, Mr. Kiyosaki strongly condones network marketing due to the current weakness of corporate America. LOTS of money can be made there if people stop confusing it with pyramids.) ![]() Now, about the laziness... Yo.
Like Apoc, I have not had much time to do signature-gathering. School rules my life now; it is extremely important that I get good grades this semester, so the unfortunate truth is that things like the CT Remake Petition have fallen by the wayside. I have to focus on studying and homework for now; hopefully I shall be able to have more time for the petition when summer comes. I've nonetheless made a few attempts to gather sigs at school, but nobody there seems interested, and I actually feel kinda silly telling them about the petition since I know that their answer will probably be, "I couldn't care less." I've had absolutely NO luck getting people to take their own copies of the petition around and gather sigs themselves. *SIGH* Gentlemen, we appear to be on our own here. I'm sure there are other people out there who care about CT as much as we do, and who would be willing to gether petitions themselves; but they don't live near us. They're spread out all over the country, and likely, all over the world. The only way we could possibly communicate with them and get their assistance is through the Internet. If we don't start advertising aggressively, and SOON, we shall fade into obscurity and be forgotten, yet another pathetic failed petition that led nowhere. I mean this with as much emphasis as I can possibly muster. I have already started advertising on forums I visit, confidence-shaking-signature-count be damned. I've actually gotten the word out to some people; and I've gotten some positive responses. But I'm not posting in the popular Chrono Trigger forums; I'm bringing up the petition at other videogame-related sites and forums in an attempt to target the less-obvious people. I figured you guys would take care of the more obvious places. I was wrong. (Has anybody even told CTRP that the petition is launched? What about Chrono Compendium's promised mention of us on their front page?) The signatures will not magically appear if nobody knows about us. Get the PR train running; THEN other people might try collecting signatures instead of leaving us to do all the work. Like Apoc, I have not had much time to do signature-gathering. Stoner, I apologize for missing the people at CTRP, but the last time I DID look there, you were our most active person over there. ![]() As for Chrono Compendium, they kept up their end of the bargain. The headline is there, on ZeaLitY's front page announcements. It's on his update for January 8th... Originally posted by ZeaLitY Secondly, I agree with you, Stoney. It's time to pull out the stops and nix the "wait for aggressive advertising until we have a few hundred signatures." Let's get our Slashdot article moving and update the CTRP people on what's happened. I know there are some CT fans we just can't reach no matter what... That's kinda how I've been rationalizing my own collecting of signatures from some people who've never touched a videogame in their life, but they'll sign a petition for a friend. Maybe you can get a little success that way. ![]() As for Chrono Compendium, they kept up their end of the bargain. The headline is there, on ZeaLitY's front page announcements. It seems we all are in a similar situation, or at the very least, realize that not much is getting done. By the way, I did cover the CTRP. I posted about the launch quite some time ago. The only person to respond was Galidan... I think. Then again, I can't find that post now, so maybe it got removed or something. To be honest though; it probably wasn't that great a place to post it. I posted in a topic concerning the ARTWORK of the petition, not really the petition itself. In a sense, perhaps people who didn't want to look in on that thread got left out on the news.
Anyway, I suppose I agree. Props, I think your method would have been good... but the collection is taking too long! We have just us, and not all of us are able to get it immediately in due to conflicting schedules and such. As such, we are getting a miniscule number of signatures over a large period of time. As such, it would probably be good to discuss just how we are to proceed. I think we need to advertise, as mentioned previously, but just how much? Should we go all-out? The last time I checked; Props had the finished letter to slash-dot. If anyone can contact him; I'm sure he'd be willing to submit if we asked. I suggest if we do submit to slashdot though, that we also submit to other locations as well. Anyway, I suppose I agree. Ready?......Break.
Anyways once we get Slashdot submitted I'll try writing a letter to send to IGN and post it here. I have a bit of homework over the weekend so I won't be able to get to it quite yet. Chrono Symphonic has launched. And they mention us on their front page. Jake, did you get that promised email from Claado with all the songs included a few days in advance of the launch? *heads off to download all the tracks* Chrono Symphonic has launched. Um, I don't think they mentioned us on their FRONT page, Stoney...they did mention us on the Affiliates page, if that's what you mean.
No, Claado never gave me the email with the tracks in advance. In fact, I never knew when they launched. I just checked their site one day and saw that they had launched a few days before, so naturally I downloaded everything then. It's ok though, I really don't mind. ![]() No, Claado never gave me the email with the tracks in advance. In fact, I never knew when they launched. I don't know why you think it's your place to chastise us for the petition's lack of progress, Stoney. You're not the only one in the world with a busy life, so don't act like it. We've all been working on spreading the word, but people aren't biting. That's not our fault. And it's especially not our fault any more than it is yours.
And I have informed the CT:RP people about the petition. Several times. And reminded them to sign it and tell people they know to sign it. Several times. Don't yell at us for their lack of enthusiasm. About the Slashdot article; I never had it finished because I was waiting to write the section about how long we've had the petition going and how successful it's been, but that section needs to be rewritten now, since our numbers aren't good enough to be published. I can get that submitted by tonight or tomorrow night. And I have informed the CT:RP people about the petition. Several times. And reminded them to sign it and tell people they know to sign it. Gosh, have I offended you, Prop? ![]() I'm not chastizing you or anybody else. I know darn well that we all have busy lives, I can tell that just from the posts I've seen here. I was just trying to motivate and inspire you guys, that's all... And I'm confident the people will bite if we inform enough of them about the launch. That could happen through a device such as Slashdot, so I'm happy to hear that the article is ready to go. I just think it's time we stopped being scared about how people react to a low signature count. That fear has been delaying us from advertising on a major scale for weeks now. We've waited for people to come sign the petition anyway, but they haven't. So it's time for us to act. Thank you, Prop and Apoc, for telling CTRP about the launch. Glad to see we got mentioned on the Compendium. I feel proud of us now, just like I did when I first saw the petition's site. It's a great feeling. Yeah Jake, I meant the affiliates page. Whoops. ![]() I'm not chastizing you or anybody else. I know darn well that we all have busy lives, I can tell that just from the posts I've seen here. Sorry it took so long, I had a crazy weekend.
"So you call yourself a classic gamer? Well now’s your chance to prove it. Since the summer of 2005 a group calling themselves the Chrono Trigger Remake Petition Group (CTRPG) has been putting together a hard-copy petition to send to Square-Enix of Japan. The reason? So for the first time fans of the RPG classic, Chrono Trigger, will have the opportunity to express their desires to see more of the time traveling team they grew to love; to see Chrono Trigger completely remade for a next generation system. The group launched the petition a few weeks ago, and is experiencing a satisfying amount of success. They have already received signatures from all over the country and recently learned that Square-Enix of America supports their cause, and is willing to work with the Japan headquarters to ensure their success. The group would like to stress that for the effort to succeed every Chrono Trigger fan must do their part. Their goal of 25,000 signatures is a lofty one, but if we all work together to attain it the future of Chrono Trigger looks very bright. So you still call yourself a classic gamer? Then head over to https://vizzed.com/ctremake/ to learn more and print out a copy of the petition for yourself. The CTRPG appreciates your help, and asks you to drop by their forums to give your thoughts." Let me know what you guys think. "So you call yourself a classic gamer? We should think of other places to post it. Do we want to stagger the releases of it or release it all over all at once?

*sigh...* Oh the horror. Sorry for my lack of uh... existence, of late. I had mid-terms... and then I had various Senior Project problems. Anyway, I've looked over what is going on.
Anyway... I shall try to make my replies to every post I missed simultaneously. Not sure how well that'll work... Ok... here it goes... Posting this information in other areas is a definite plus. There can be nothing LOST in the process. On the other hand, will they accept our story? IGN, for example, would be a GREAT place to release this information. On the other hand, IGN is a pretty big gaming site. They may not even listen to or even SEE our request. They obviously can't reply to every letter, and furthermore, even if they did... it might just be an impossible request. Our original idea was to attack forums at first, try to gradually build hype from there, and then eventually (after we got a name for ourselves) start requesting our story to be put upon gaming websites such as IGN. The problem is though, that we haven't recieved the support we need to really pull this off. We know there are plenty of CT fans out there. The problem is, is their urge to see a CT remake greater than their urge to be lazy? To sign a petition means to get up and do something. Then they would have to spread the word. Humans are abnormally lazy these days, and perhaps that is the greatest downfall of this petition. Afterall, if the fans themselves are too lazy to print out a document, sign it, and mail it out (they don't even HAVE to go out and get signatures), then there will only be problems in the future as well. This in mind, we'll have to hope that the news (once we start releasing it again) reaches the ears of people who actually intend to do something with the information. Otherwise, this problem may just continue. I too feel it is time to take some action. After all, if not now... when? We aren't, at this rate, going to jump up a few hundred signatures to impress future visitors of the site. In fact, even with my stuff turned in... if I can actually meet up with the people who would sign it, we wouldn't increase by a truely significant amount. This in mind, there is no benefit in waiting. If we wait, our project will only collect dust. Quite frankly, we've all worked on this for some time now... and I'm sure we all want to see something come out of it in the end. It is a necessity for us to get the information out, and furthermore, to excite the masses enough so that they actually go through with filling out our petition and sending it to Jake. I suppose it takes more will-power to fill out a hand-signed petition, and again, that is probably why we require our potential signers to feel enthusiastic about the petition. If they do not, the case is, they simply won't have the will to go about with the signing process. Props, I like the article. Though, I am not sure if you are accurate with "experiencing a satisfying amount of success". Then again, such a quote varies upon how it is looked upon. Afterall, perhaps we are satisfied with our current number of signatures. At the very least, you could call it a play on words. ![]() Regardless, I think it is overall a good article. I think it will grab attention, and that is specifically what we need. The article does not seem to be made solely for the use of slashdot. On that respect, it does not necessarily have to be put towards solely slashdot. It couldn't be a bad thing to get the news as widespread as possible. It could only inform more potential signees in the process. We probably should think of where else, specifically, we could put it. Anyway... Ok, that's two for yes, and one for maybe, and two still unaccounted for.
In terms of finding where to post it, I think we should make a list of all the sites we know like slashdot, and have each person work on finding ways to contact them. Once we have their contact information we can tell them about our project and mention that we already had an article on another site so they'll know we're serious and will want to post our article in competition with the other site. Then the only thing left is to send them the article. PS- I have pinkeye. Probably gave it to at least 15 people last night too. How are you guys?
