Because no one from Yahoo is helping me, maybe someone here will.

OK, well today I was playing Earthbound using ZSNES on my Netbook. I wanted to save my progress so I went to the game menu and clicked "save state" and when I pressed escape to get off the ZSNES screen it said "State 0 saved". I went on later and all my in-game saves were deleted (i.e. every save slot said "Start New Game") and when I tried to load my save state by clicking "Load state" on the ZSNES menu it said "Unable to load state 0". How can I fix this? I don't think I did anything wrong, considering I followed directions from eHow. Will I ever be able to get my data back?

P.S. I was using this ROM: http://www.emuparadise.org/Super_Nintendo_Entertainment_System_%28SNES%29_ROMs/EarthBound_%28USA%29/33602 and this SNES emulator: http://www.emuparadise.org/Super_Nintendo_Entertainment_System_%28SNES%29_Emulators/Windows/ZSNES/24

Earth bound has some security to emulation so sometimes states don't work.
Other wise the state should work. It might be that the data was lost due to abrupt shutdown. Also the rare event where Zsnes doesn't react as correctly as usual. Just try doing another save state and see what happen.

i guess you should try to save with f2 and to load with f4.
that works 100% on my pc.
I also sometimes have the problem,

Yeah when the ingame saves are deleted, the games security activated. When that happens, I wouldn't use save states for the game after that. I had that same thing happened to me as well. Then I stopped using the save state and was acting normal.

jmc1097 : just save the game normally. which is at hotels and what not and use the black phone on the service desk. then just go through some text and then it will ask if you want to save.
