I would live in Phenac City in the Orre Region its nice warm and surrounded bye cool crisp water pools also theres a training Gym and a poke mart plus a massive colloseum at the south of the town were you can train.

Saffron City of Kanto! everyday is a stroll in the big town!

However I do only live 30 minutes away from the beach and I am not sure how long it would take you to go from goldenrod to that place by the water with the steel type gym. If it was short then goldenrod is fine with me otherwise I would live near the beach.
