ruesen : The name of the thread is "Name of your pets". Not "What is your life history with pets". Clearly a TDV driven post. In the future, stick to the topic of the thread.

rcarter2 :

Honestly, it was more like I was thinking as I was typing, which led to a me babbling about my pets. I thought a little background on pets would be fine as you mentioned their names, but re-reading what I wrote... I understand. In hindsight, I probably would have been better off speaking on how the names came to be with a few sentences of background. I will try to double check my writings in the future to prevent my rambling becoming off topic.

Also, to make this post not just about responding, I did have some nicknames for my pets. Often I call my dog, Faith several different things as I see her, such as Faith-aroni, Faith-zilla, Faith-enstein, and Faith-erdoodle. Buddy used to be called othe things though, like "Dogface" "Old Man" in his later years, and Woofer. I don't think I gave my other pets nicknames, or if I did, nothing noteworthy.

I also remember what I named that nameless fish I mentioned in my other post (asked my parents about it). Apparently, it was named "Goldie" which I assume was because it looked gold, but dang if i can remember what it even looked like!

The four cats that I've had are Malibu, Simko, Cuddles, and Katy. Only the last one is still alive, and also the only girl.
My four gerbils names are Scurry and Flurry, then the ones that I have now are Scamper and Ginger.
I have four other people to figure out the name with, and three of the cats were not my choice, so I didn't get much of a say in the names.

I have a pit bull/sharpee mix named Ava and she acts like she wants to be a lap dog. She's big as a house and tries to jump into your lap.

They are not exactly mine, but I call them mine because I am so close and attached to them.
There is Marley and Ebenezer the dogs that are my grandparents; Spot and Wolf the dogs that are my aunt's; and then there is Fred the cat... not sure who claims the cat, honestly.

Stevie 764 : Wow, that is a LOT of animals. Outdoor cats, yes?

I have two cats named Budah and Mokie.

Budah used to be Buddy, but he got moved into my brother's house for awhile. My brother had two sweet, amazing cats named Azreal and Rasputin (not kidding). My cat is...uh, EVIL. So we changed his name to a 'good' name, hoping that he'd feel some peace and settle down. Didn't work, but it was a good try. (And yes, we spelled it wrong on purpose-even if we're not religious, naming my cat after any religion's higher beings just felt...wrong.)

Mokie was a  rescue cat. She is a grey striped kitten who looks like she's wearing a pair of fuzzy pants-her upper half is smooth and beautiful, but she's got fuzzy britches. We named her Mokie after the Fraggle, because Mokie's robe is grey and she always looks messy. Also because Mokie (both of them) have a very sweet, cuddly disposition, but underneath is a temper that occasionally flashes out in surprising ways.

I suppose I'll name all the animals I've ever had, since this thread got me thinking about them.

I've had three rabbits: Mr. Bun Buns, Maisy, and Fluffy.

There have been three dogs: Maggie, Koko, and Buddy.

We had five birds: Bobo, Baby, Spearow, Pidgey, and Butterfree. I remember once when I was little I talked about the first two in one of my classes. I can't remember why, but I remember the teacher had me talking to the class. I still remember some girl laughing at me when I told the class their names. It bothered me, not only because I loved the birds, especially when Bobo would talk, but also because someone gave them to us and we weren't even the ones that named them.

And finally, we had a hamster that was never properly named.

Fish don't count. Not even the one that my sister wanted to name Hitler.

I've honestly had a TON of pets, so I'm going off the top of my memory, and will most likely forget some or mess up.

First, I'll list the cats and noteworthy aspects.
Sebastian and Bagheera - Bagheera died really early, while we had Sebastian up until we moved away. Both were stray kittens.

Punkin - We adopted her a really long time ago, to where I don't even remember anymore how long. We've had her the longest, and still do have her. She stays away from everyone most of the time, though.

Tulip and her four kittens: Peaches, Patches, Lepee (If you know where we got the name for him from without searching, you win all my internets), and the fourth never really had a proper name. - Tulip, like Sebastian, was a stray cat. When got her, she was already pregnant with the four kittens. The number of cats reaches 7, since we still had Sebastian and Punkin at the time. All except for Lepee were given away when we moved, as opposed to Sebastian, who continued to live at that house. Lepee stayed with us until he went 100% missing, and presumably died by nature's selfish hands.

Lily - Newest, got her not long ago actually. My mom's friend gave us to her for my mom's birthday a few years ago, about almost two years now actually.

Now, for dogs.

Babe - She was an old pug when we adopted her. She actually didn't last too long. She was put down due to how old she was, and apparently she wasn't very friendly to anyone besides me, which is the case for most animals it seems.

Lola - Black lab. We still have her. She was actually rescued from Hurricane Katrina. Unlike Lepee, I'll actually tell you what we named her after: Lola Bunny from Space Jam. (Off Topic: Space Jam Lola Bunny is best/true Lola Bunny. The new one is awful and I reject its existance)

Jack - Chihuahua. We also still have him. Not much else to mention.

And then there were FAR too many fish, but there was actually one I cared for.

Magikarp - My brother got him from some school thing. He basically ignored the fish and the snails, so I took them, which he didn't mind, shockingly. I truthfully didn't care for him for some time, but I started to actually care for it. He was the only one to survive when we bought more snails that murdered other fish we bought, which I was quite thankful for. He eventually died, and I'll be honest, just like my other lost pets, I DID cry over Magikarp's death (yes, I grieve over the death of animals, EVEN FISH, more than humans).

I'm pretty sure that's all of them, Nya~.

My dog is a pointer/pit bull mix and has a very large black spot on his white face. Instead of just calling him spot we named him Kiko which is Hawaiian for spot. My wife and I thought this was a perfect name for him.

We also have another dog named Bean and another named Timmy.

I also have three cats names Dixie, Amadeus, and TJ.  At one time we had all animals named after Classical and Baroque period composers.

I had only one pet from my childhood, and it was a Female Dog named Phoebe. Don't know why it was her name, never asked. Anyway, she was my childhood dog, and she's been there most of my recent years as well. Unfortunately for me 2 years ago, she was put down after being unable to move thanks to a broken leg. She was 16. Pretty freaking old.
