OK, well this Christmas I'm getting a Netbook. It's a good one, a smexy maroon color plus it has 160 gigs of space on it. Now, could that play stuff like FreeRealms (if you don't know what that is, it's an MMORPG like WoW except more teen-oriented) and ROMs (mainly PSone, Nintendo 64, and SNES ROMs, although PS2 ROMs being playable on it would be great too). Can someone help?

The most important thing isn't how big the hard drive is, it's how much ram your computer has, and how good the graphics card is. Usually the cards on Netbooks aren't all that great. So you may have an issue playing PS2 games.

Jordanv78 : That's OK. The PS2 thing wasn't my biggest concern, I can just use them on my PC. I really want to know about FreeRealms and the other types of ROMs I listed.

If you are intending to play roms I don't really think you should buy yourself a netbook. As Jordan said netbooks video cards are not very good and I think you'll have many troubles. I can't say for sure because you didn't mention the video card specs but I own an onboard video card notebook and it does not play a sci-fi MMORPG I used to play (which name I don't remember) nor Zelda Majoras Masks (and a few other N64 roms) and I doubt it can handle PSOne roms

So I think you won't be able to play many N64 and Psone rooms. If possible, you should by an off board video card notebook, this will save you a lot of concern. Take a look here (2nd post)

I think it should be able to play anything that's available in the RGR.

As far as FreeRealms, I dunno. It's a full 3D mmo, and the data would take up a lot of space. :/ Plus, depending on how good the video card is, you might not be able to run it at all, which is a bummer.

That said, netbooks are still pretty good computers. They should be able to go to all the websites you currently go to, and can handle (basic) games.

well if it has a good graphics card it could run them but like my current computer can play snes games and lower because it has like a 32 bit graphics card but you would have to check the specs on it and check the requierment for free realms

Unless you are getting one of those really expensive netbooks (which if you are, honestly it's a mistake imo) then I'm doubting the gpu will be enough as others have said. I'm not positive as you didn't give any details.

CPU is also important.

There is a catch, netbooks are designed to be used for documents and web. They aren't designed for any gaming, sure you could run NES, SNES roms on there. PS1 or N64 roms may get a bit tricky for it (again unsure as you didn't give us anything beyond the HDD). Anyways the point is, even if you had extra cash to buy a graphics card (which you'd probably want right around $60 to $100 for what you want (though you may find one for cheaper, would have to look into it). Anyways, even if you find one, I'm not sure there would even be a place for it in the netbook. And if there was it would have to be a pretty weak card as I doubt the PSU would be all that powerful.

Another thing to consider is RAM for when looking at that MMO, though that's not as big of a deal as 1 GB or 2 GB is more or less standard now. Lastly netbooks aren't really designed to be upgraded at all as far as I can tell, so whatever stats you have going in are what you are stuck with.

I see your "smexy" maroon color and raise you an awesome "smexy" case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156250&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-FroogleCases+%28Computer+Cases+-+ATX+Form%29Raidmax11156250
