I think after 2 years of seeing eachother, if one is not commited to another person by now what the hell are they doing with me! He say's I still want to be with you, I say, of course, but I am not sure I want to marry you, I have never asked him too, all I can say is this is making Totts depressed!

Marriage can be a difficult thing for people... for me I would probably not want to marry anyone after my good skillz at relationships (sarcasm) Whether it be not enough money for a family, or fear for divorce / something other of that nature. Those reasons I listed would probably be good reasons not to commit, however if his reason is "oh great I'm going to be stuck with this lady the rest of my life" then its a bad idea to begin with.

You also don't have to marry someone to be committed that is just an illusion. You have been together for 2 years I call that committed enough 2 years is a long time in my standards I only lasted 1 month tops Very hard getting someone who is truely committed. If I were you I probably would not stress about it it happens when it happens don't want to force him into it or it might not go smoothly.

There are lots of people who probably want the perfect life, marriage, kids, etc... but there is a big portion of married people who later in life probably wish they never got married So its a risk either way.

I think people need to make a list before marriage make sure they are on same track and doing it for the right reasons, don't want to marry a bad seed (although that can be hard to notice at times).

What if it were the other way around and he proposed and you said no... that would probably hurt him just as bad so I think you both need to figure out what it is you want in life out of this relationship.

If he's saying this, dump his arse! You seem like a cool lady. Don't let this guy squander your years that should be shared with someone more deserving. Find a nice guy who likes you and that you can imagine sleeping in the same bed with at night (without throwing up). Work out the details later.

I have been quite happy lately. I don't know why, but to me that is the best kind of happiness. Don't let people or things get you sad. I have learned to appreciate the simple things and myself since the last time that I was REALLY depressed. In the end only you can make yourself happy.

I don't know about this one. I don't have much experience with 'fear of commitment' because my boyfriend was ready to commit after just two years. But I'd say it's different for everyone. Just because he doesn't want to get married doesn't mean he doesn't love you. Just give him some time to adjust to the idea and maybe he'll change his mind.
