to topic: FF8 was the most awesomous FF game. I still try to do a Draw system in RM2k, but fail everytime...
Draws, Junction and the Limit System made it this great

Yeah, I've grown to despise 7 as well It's good, but it's not THAT good where you have to talk about its greatness for 11 years.

yes, hear hear, 7 is not the be all and end all.
the only reason it got made into a movie and more games released based on it was only because it was/is a high seller.

but this is only really because it was the first ff game to use 3d graphics and such.

if i could find it id post this really intellegent observation on ff7 but it basically explains how each ff could be claimed to be a step above each one that came before it

anyways, i give my vote to ff9, a great game, plus it has ark, and im a sucker for mecha, so, go super mecha summon!

It's so true. Sephiroth is what made that game. Not cloud. Cloud was a whiner. Oh boo hoo I'm not a soldier so I'll lie about it. Sephiroth had the huge sword and was so badass that no one touched him.... except for Cloud apparently. Stupid game played up Sephiroth like he was invincible and then the nobody that couldn't get in to Soldier beats him? Lame.


And cos is generally scary because people force themselves in to characters that they don't actually resemble. I have seen some really well done ones before but they are few and far between compared to the scary fat ones. Hooray for Fan Boys!

Final Fantasy VII has a strong battle system, strong magic system, and strong character development. Square-Enix should definitely remake it for all consoles so that everyone has the opportunity to play it. However, all of the Final Fantasys are great games that are all worth a look and deserve some lovin'

Ive actually been playing FFXII lately and that has a WICKED battle system! The thing is, if you havent played it, the battle system is... Well its like a World Battle System. Enemies are in the world and when you engage them in combat all you do is draw your weapon. There is no loading screen or anything. The landscae doesnt change. You fight them where you find them.

i wish it was like that for more games

i havnt played FFXII but it looks to me to just be a rip of the battle system from .hack. i mean there are some differences of course but...
EDIT: i remembered also drakengard has a similar battle system, sorta.

Should i mention that a friend told me that they are developing a game to link FFVII and FFX together.

It seems relatively impossible but ill be interested to see how its done.

I don't really even have a solid reason as for why, but I've always preferred Final Fantasy VIII to any of the others I've played. I love most of them about equally, but I think the storyline and the being in school aspect of VIII won me over. I spent way too much time taking tests to get more pay.

Final Fantasy VII is the best of all if u look on ebay the price compairison between VII & VIII is pretty big. and i hate to be sterotypica but final fantsy VIII is a love story and u being a female it makes sence. btw DNG dicksweet isnt even a term used in america either.

Most Final Fantasty games have a love story in them, if not all (I won't say all because I haven't played every one of them). But yeah, VIII is definitely pretty heavily focused on that, but so was X and obviously X-2. They all are. Oops I said it. All the ones I've played are. Though some more than others.

That said, I don't it has much to do with that aspect of the game. I just love the story outside of that, and the characters too. And the amount a game is worth isn't directly correlated to how awesome it is, just how popular. And popularity and awesomeness don't exactly go hand in hand. Though they do quite often.

I need to stop contradicting myself so much when trying to make points.

Final Fantasy VII holds a special place in my heart as being the first one I played through completely (and I'm not saying it's bad in any form, it's one of my favorite games). But I was very disappointed in the ending, to be honest, so I never was as impressed as I have been with others.

Definitely Final Fantasy VII.

Not only do I have a soft heart for it merely because it was one of the first "older" game I ever played (it was rated teen) but also because of the same reason some people don't like it. The fact that it has a storyline that is not only not confusing the first time, but you can get more and more out of it every time you go through, or play the new games for it. Spinoffs only occur when the game is awesome enough to warrant it. Any debates that may occur about this I will beat down with pure, unadulterated logic. Try me.

spin offs are made to try and squeeze more money out of something that sells well, not necessary something good
delusional people are rediculously fantically difficult to convince their wrong so i'm not going to tell you the many ways 7 is inferior to the others in the series
