During the night i either go to bed or wake up in the middle of sleepy time with my sinuses acting up. I try blowing my nose, nothing. I try my nasal spray, nothing. i try letting my sinuses open up by sitting up and letting the mucus drip back down the back of my throat. And guess what, STILL nothing. occasionally i bring out the steam machine and it works, but not really well. if you have any advice for me, please tell me IMMEDIATELY.

I'll tell you my solution. Spicy foods. They taste good and they make your nose run. Try just eating some kind of chile pepper. A teaspoon of black pepper will do the trick too.

Many people who have allergies and on medication for them and use a neti pot cut there medication use by 50%. You can get a neti pot almost anywhere nowadays, most usually in a health food store or some drug store. A neti pot looks like a little tea pot that you stick in a nostril and let water flow out of it (don't sniff). I use to get a fat drinking straw and dip it into a bottle of water, hold finger over end to keep water in, tilt head back, stick the end into the nostril and release the finger, cough out the mouth, don't sniff. some with a neti pot tilt the head and let the water flow from one nostril and out the other. To see what a neti pot looks like or more info - Google it.

I cant stand for my nose to be stopped up i usually use nasal spray it works great for me.,But I also chew on peppermints too.They just seem to work well keeping my nose clear and minty.I should also mention that I chew several at a time sometimes like 3 or 4.So maybe thats why it works so well.I'm not 100% on that.

Personally I would go to the Dr. and see what he/she could do for you. Also Claritin does wonders for me opening up my sinuses if I'm having an issue.

My best guess would be to chew gum for a little while. The only requirement is that the gum has a strong mint flavor (I like peppermint). I told the school nurse about it once and she thought it probably worked because of something to do with the mint flavor and eucalyptus. I like it because it completely dries out my throat during allergy season.
