There's a Facebook page to get people to change their Profile Pic until at least December 6 to something related to a cartoon you watched when you were a kid. It's for the NSPCC.

I've heard all about it and I don't think it accomplishes a whole lot. Beyond changing your profile pic what has anyone actually done? Seems like so many other pointless things people do on facebook.

This is my current status.... which makes fun of a lot of other statuses:

"WARNING!! PLEASE READ. If someone comes to your front door and asks you to remove your clothes and dance with your arms in the air. DO NOT do this. It is a scam. They just want to see you naked. Please copy and paste this to your status. I wish I had received this yesterday. I feel so stupid now..."

People are silly. This is about as "real" as e-mail chain letters.

I changed mine to a Miltank, because everybody else was changing theirs to Pokemon, so I figured I would too. I'm not trying to be a follower or anything, but everybody thought they had awesome picks... So I got one just that much weirder.

It reaches a point where it's really just for fun, but the original reason for it is still there. People who know about it can also tell others why it's going on and that does help spread the word.
