geeogree : I'm fairly sure this could lead to flaming if enough people participate. I am trying to conduct an unofficial poll on actual people rather than using a random magazine poll. I check Vizzed at least 5 times a day, so I will be keeping close track of this thread. I will not hesitate to report any overly offensive comments. If this crosses any line, let me know.

Anyone can be a terrorist. It's unfair to generalize in general (lol). Kudos for you in taking sociology; easily my favourite class in high school.

The typical viewpoint in America is not all terrorists are muslim but all muslims are terrorists.

Although I would disagree, because I think the biggest terrorist is USA. They got all the tools, deception, and media to create and spread terrorism. They are probably also responsible for the image of muslims in America.

I think that the Muslim religion is not necessarily one that promotes terrorism. It just kinda... happened that way. I'm sure people would hate Christians if they had lots of terrorists too.

Also the Quran, the Muslim bible, in fact does preach to kill Christians and Jews. Here are a few passages from it:

"And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. "And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah." - 2:193

"The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter theirs will be an awful doom." - 5:33


The above verses explain why radical Muslims kill for their religion.

Lieutenant Vicktz : Ugh, hate is everywhere. If only people could agree on a religion, or not have biased views, perhaps nothing like that would happen... but it's inevitable.

Also, I'm sorry that David is treated like that . I mean, it's a website, with games. It's not like an extremist site or anything.

yeah, any group that is even slightly different than the "norm" gets persecuted.... and when you're a part of a group that is loudly outspoken (or parts of it are) with regards to things like "Death to the West" and "USA is evil" etc etc it's hard to not feel defensive or resentful towards that group.

I have met plenty of perfectly respectable muslims in my life. There is a large population of them in a certain area of the city I live in. I've never had a problem with them. However, it almost feels like they say one thing to my face and do something different once my back is turned.... but that has little to do with them being Muslim I think. A lot of people are like that.

I try to treat everyone I come across with respect based on how they treat me. I wish more of the "moderate" muslims would come out against terrorism. The fact that they don't makes me wonder how much of Islam is moderate.

I'm a firm believer of who worship and how you worship is none of my business lol. Now as for how Muslims are treated in America they are treated like crap but it also doesnt help that 9/11 happened by group of Muslim radicals and extremests thus clouting Americans judgment of Muslims. I personally do not like Muslims not because i hate them as people but because i disagree with their faith and how women are treated propriety. I think with a little education people will learn to put aside the racist stereotype giving to the Muslim community.

We shouldn't just use such a blanket statement of "All Muslims are terrorists". This is because nobody is cookie-cutter; everyone's different and shouldn't be packed together and perceived the same way.

Another thing is that people were up-in-arms about the Mosque in New York. There are strip clubs and night clubs near ground zero, so why is a place for innocent religious expression being condemned?

Calling Muslims terrorists is just like calling every Christian a supporter of the Crusades, or all Americans are dumb, or that Chinese, Japanese and Korean individuals are the same. It's not true and it's really, really rude and ignorant.

How about the fact that we are all infidels and it's okay for Muslims to kill us? I don't like being lumped into groups that I don't belong in either

you shouldn't instantly think all muslims are terrorist, there may be more muslim terrorist than any other, but some are from all different religions and cultures, you wouldn't judge them in the same way.

The way Muslims are being treated in the States is degrading more and more into primal racism.

Some people in stores have refused to serve some of my friends because their of Arabic descent (and they're Christians)! Some kids at my high school will regularly make anti-Islmic slurs in public, in earshot of Muslims, and especially when trying to establish their positions as alpha male.

I personally don't partake in Racism, but look closely at what others do and judge them in my mind. After looking over all the evidence, things are just slowly reverting back to the 18th century America where Blacks were considered evil, dark creatures who hated everyone. Except this time it's with anyone associated with a religion.

I actually plan on moving to Japan if things get to the point where America reverts completely and restarts segregation or internment camps (which we've learned previously to be VERY wrong methods of dealing with your problems.)

I know that most of them aren't mass murderers (I refuse to use the new, incorrect definition for terrorist. I don't see the suicide bombers as terrorists. Wrong word.) but some of them are. Frankly, their religion is twisted. I don't think they're going to come get me for being a non-believer or anything irrational, the thing I don't like about Muslims is the way that they treat their women. I can only imagine the things that these poor girls go through... They're conditioned all of their lives to be completely subservient to men, and do whatever their husband asks of them. Burkas speak for themselves. Have you ever met a muslim girl, or married Muslim woman? They seem so beaten down, and untrusting, like they'd agree with anything you say. I don't approve of this religion.

It's hard for me to judge how they are treated since I am not one, and I don't have to live their lives. It seems as if they are treated just most people are. There is always someone that doesn't like you because of who/what you are. That's just the way life is.

I really hate how muslims are treated in America. Sure, I don't agree with some of there stuff, like how they treat women, but they probably don't agree with some of my Christian believe's, like how we must obey by the 10 commandments. Every religion has it's ups and downs, and the Muslims just got stuck with a bunch of dumb terroists. They supposedly want to "help" there religion, but doing stuff like suicide bombing only makes people think that there religion is bad. It's not. I'm not Muslim, but I'm sure if I was, I'd be really ticked on how I was treated.

The Muslims are treated no different than any other new arrivals first years in America.We have all hated each other the same.,But of course the US promotes religious freedom.,And all Americans can practice whatever religion they want.
