I've seen all of the planets (through telescope), the moon, galaxies, and nebulas; but the coolest thing I've EVER seen (my whole life out of everything) was the International Space Station through a telescope. I don't think anything beats that sight. I'll always remember that.

I've personally never been able to catch the International Space Station w/ my telescope. It's too fast.

I like looking at the moon up close. I mean, with a telescope, on a perfect, clear night. When you look at it with the naked eye, it just looks like a white circle with holes, but when you look closer you can see all the ripples and stuff.

the_casualty : try looking with binoculars at the ISS you'll be able to catch a glimpse of it. It is actually pretty tiny through them, though. Tiny, but amazing.

spectergaj : Oh, I see. The binoculars are much more mobile then a big bulky telescope.

spectergaj : I've seen plenty of things. From birds flying...to shooting stars....to UFO'S.
I enjoy looking at the sky...when its midnight in particular because thats around the time I see lots of shooting stars. I've seen more than a dozen in my lifetime. And I recall seeing at least 2 UFO'S...

Cool lights possibly UFO's, but what really sucks is my vision has got bad over the years thanks to computer now everything is just a blur. Every night though I see this really bright thing in sky always think its a UFO cause it stands out as much as the moon does, and no its not the moon my vision is not that bad... yet.

I've seen the moon with my naked eye, I've seen Mars and I think Venus with a telescope, and once I saw a shooting star.

Coolest thing? The Leonid meteor shower, hands down. It's just awe-inspiring seeing all those plummeting chunks of space rock, wondering what all they might have passsed through on their way to our little mudball. Simply amazing.

I've seen the moon up close with a telescope. Also the sun (sun spots and winds) but that was during the day so I guess that doesn't count here. Also where I live I've seen shooting stars and the northern lights are a common, but beautiful sight every time. I've seen them green, blue and violet but I really want to se them red, but that is a rare sight.

spectergaj : Well if you own a telescope and have patience I'm sure you'll see a UFO, shooting stars and much more! It's common for me to see things like that, I use my telescope often.

Here's a cool picture I found of UFO sitings in the sky..

This was a siting in some foreign country...

Sometimes the nightsky is so bright with stars, it's simply beautiful.
The moon, etc.
I don't have a telescope nor do I have so much intrest for it, I guess.

ah yes, once while on acid there was a rainbow in the nightsky but that doesn't count I guess. (it was great though haha)
