I am not that big of a COD fan, but I would have to say Black Ops, I have always found Treyarch to be a lot better at making COD games than Infinity Ward, the only exception being COD 4, which was the best COD ever released.

So I have to go with Black Ops, zombie mode isn't that good on it, neither is the unbalanced multiplayer but the thing that really had me gripped was the story, loved the story of Black Ops and I am currently playing through Black Ops 2 right now.

They both were great games modern warfare 2 was funny with the spetsnaz when an enemy gets a ac 130 or a emp its funny how they yell and the tactical nuke thing was awesome as for black ops 2 the new weapons were awesome and the new tranzit map and survival they both were in my view amazing games but I am going to go with modern warfare 2

To be truthful I never really liked the black ops series at all the first or the second one, to be truthful I still play modern warfare 2 and modern warfare 3.  So obviously I'm going to pick modern warfare 2 over black ops, and I will explain why even if you don't want me too.  I like modern warfare 2 more because I like the maps and the weapons better then black ops.  For example the snipers in modern warfare 2 were good especially the intervention and the Barrett 50 cal, compared to the snipers in black ops. For one reason is because for those trick shots it's hard to quick scope in black ops and very easy and fun in modern warfare 2.  Also I don't like in black ops how they made the money thing.  I don't like it because in the long run it will screw you over most likely, especially if you do wager match's and you suck at them but you don't quit doing them.  Another thing I like more in modern warfare 2 are the kill streaks the only kill streak I like in black ops is the dogs and the blackbird, my favorite kill streaks in modern warfare 2 and the ac130 the nuke, the emergency air drop, and the stealth bomber.  The only thing I like in black ops more then modern warfare 2 is the zombies over special ops, the main reason I say that is because zombies is fun and I hate special ops.  Now if you are still reading this those are my reasons of liking modern warfare 2 more then black ops.

Modern Warfare 2 for playing online and for the guns and the story mode and special ops. Modern Warfare 2 was the Call of duty they got right for everything. Thus this is the best Call of Duty out there.

Black Ops is brilliant for combat training and playing against bots, Especially on nuke town. And of course Black Ops has the Zombies game mode which also is the only thing Modern Warfare 2 was missing.

I'll have to go with Modern Warfare 2 because I think of it as a more casual game than Black Ops, just seems there's more tryhards on Black Ops.  I'd have to give favorite guns to Black Ops though because I loved using the Olympia and the Dual Skorpions.  Overall though Modern Warfare 2 takes the cake over Black Ops but the best is still COD 4.

CoD Black Ops is way more fun than Modern Warfare 2, and I should know...I own and have played every game in that series so far. I just like the story in Black Ops and the missions a little better than MW2, but don't ask me to explain it. They are both great games, but Black Ops is more fun overall.

 For me, it's Modern Warfare 2. Black Ops was great, I loved that game. But, Modern Warfare 2 is what introduced me to FPS games in a way I had not experienced before it. The adrenaline of taking down opponents in a shooter online has never crystallized quite like it did for me in MW2. I thought the weapons and perks were great and some of the maps were just awesome. It even offered something you don't see in Call of Duty games anymore, the ability to mantle things in the environment other than the ones designed to be stairs.
