I am your hollowed-out saint, an angel with clipped wings.
You nailed my hands to the floor and stood on the ceiling.
Now I've played the victim for so long I can't remember what pain feels like.
So I hide in the crib that made me what I am.

Remember the sunrise. When naivety meant a clean conscience.
Remember the sunset. The thought of shutting my tired eyes.

I guess that's the beauty of self-preservation.
The Holy Grail can be ignored.
But it makes the journey worthless.
Because all that's left is the brick sun and and the solitary figure.

And when the negative finally sleeps, the world will breathe the light that was obscured.
