Nice poll and hope this is not a duplicate. My favorite type of dog would have to be a Husky or a Doberman.

jackburger : I'm more of a dog person.
Cats are dirty...
I have 2 dogs..but went through about 10 my entire life.
my favorite kind of dog you ask? Hmm, that's hard to answer considering they're all adorable...so I won't. But I have 2 schnauzers named Buddy and Holly.

Golden Retrievers. I used to raise them, they extremely intelligent, loyal, and friendly, good with kids and at times funny as heck. I miss my dogs...due to where i live I cannot have pets. Hopefully by May I can start raising dogs again.

I vote Lab. I've had four dogs that were all Labs.

Dog 1: Black Lab who I don't really remember. I have one way of remembering him. He bit my hand and left a scar when I was young. Bye bye dog #1.

Dog 2: Yellow Lab mix that everyone loved. My dad's best friend actually got a dog because of our dog. He died from a tumor that prevented him from eating. We waited too long to see the vet.

Dog 3: Yellow Lab mix that we got to keep Dog 2 from getting fat. Now he's so fat that he can't jump into the car and has trouble climbing stairs. But, he's still alive.

Dog 4: Chocolate Lab mix that is unbelievably well behaved. He can walk as if he is on a leash even if he's not. He has actually been called away from chasing a squirrel that he was determined to catch. He'll also find and deliver dog toys or his leash if we ask. He's not fat yet.

I generally like small dogs (it's easier to show them who's the boss jk). I like whippets! I almost got one about a year ago until my cousin changed his mind. I'll never forget the false hope. Whippets (in case you don't know) are very skinny looking dogs. They are also very fast. Many of them need a bed to sleep on (preferably YOURS lol) and they are very good around kids and people in general. Here's two:

I've had a pit bull previously for 9 years before she passed. Now have another for 8 years so far. They're only as mean as you treat them, same goes for any other dog. Except I don't like wimp dogs so I prefer pit bulls. They're loyal and obedient, and have a funny personality.

I really like dogs a lot! All of them are so adorable
I don't have a favorite kind, but I used to have a siberian husky and my brother had a Rottweiler. Now he wants to buy an Akita Inu.

The dog (Canis lupus familiaris[1]) is a domesticated form of the gray wolf, a member of the Canidae family of the order Carnivora. The term is used for both feral and pet varieties. The domestic dog has been the most widely kept working, hunting and companion animal in human history. The word "dog" may also mean the male of a canine species,[2] as opposed to the word "b****" for the female of the species.[3]

The dog quickly became ubiquitous across world cultures, and was extremely valuable to early human settlements. For instance, it is believed the successful emigration across the Bering Strait might not have been possible without sled dogs.[4] Dogs perform many roles for people, such as hunting, herding, protection, assisting police and military, companionship, and, more recently, aiding handicapped individuals. This impact on human society has given them the nickname "Man's best friend" in the western world. Currently, there are estimated to be 400 million dogs in the world.[5]

Over the 15,000 year span the dog had been domesticated, it diverged into only a handful of landraces, groups of similar animals whose morphology and behavior have been shaped by environmental factors and functional roles. As the modern understanding of genetics developed, humans began to intentionally breed dogs for a wide range of specific traits. Through this process, the dog has developed into hundreds of varied breeds, and shows more behavioral and morphological variation than any other land mammal.[6] For example, height measured to the withers ranges from a few inches in the Chihuahua to a few feet in the Irish Wolfhound; color varies from white through grays (usually called "blue'") to black, and browns from light (tan) to dark ("red" or "chocolate") in a wide variation of patterns; coats can be short or long, coarse-haired to wool-like, straight, curly, or smooth.[7] It is common for most breeds

I can't really say I have a favorite kind of dog. As long as it's a good dog that doesn't attack people, I will love it. Though I do have a soft spot for Pit Bulls just because people have given them such a bad reputation.

I have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi but I basically like any kind of "dog"... corgis are a smaller dog but still have a big dog attitude - which can be a good thing and a bad thing. At least that's how Buster is.
