There is a shadow in his sculpture.

Fingernails pierce the scalped edges of his skull.
Watercolor and splattered rags write his talentless scripture.

There is will in his substance.

Always a figure in the distance.
A central reflection to guide the dark etchings.

There is distortion in his past

The impact of trust never gained.
Carried through the solitary self-indulgence.

There is god in his art.

Always imperfect, always the villain.
The scapegoat hanging from the hook.
Bastardized and martyred into a rising star.
Corrupt and unfeeling as the boy who portrays him.

And throughout all of the hypocrisy, there is brutal light on his horizon.

Maybe, just maybe, the home will be found.
Somewhere in this world.
