It's been too busy lately for me to give an update until now! A lot has been happening!
In spite of the petition being temporarily closed for digital signing, signatures still continue to pile into the inbox at petition@vizzed... In the meantime, the petition has been undergoing an extreme makeover to make it more legally substantial and to give it a little more "firepower," if you will.
While the petition is being reworded by an attorney, the crew here (gathered from Vizzed, Chrono Compendium, CT Remake Project's forums, and others) have been hard at work organizing our new system for signing. Who'd have thunk it? REAL signatures!
Our official website for the Chrono Trigger Remake PETITION will be launching soon (no exact date just yet, but we hope it will be within a week), where we will hold the petition document in a few different formats for you to print. The concept it simple: You print the petition, sign it, try to fill up the page with the signatures of other people, and then mail it to our master address. We will tally up the signatures and regularly update the community with our number of current signatures. When that number has reached approximately 25,000, we will pack everything up and send the entire set of papers to Square-Enix's American headquarters.
Additionally, Square-Enix of America is aware of the petition and has agreed to notify Square-Enix of Japan of the developments here. Truth be told, Square America only asked for 15,000 to 20,000 signatures...but I like to go above and beyond to prove my point, so I'm aiming for 25,000!
Check out the new poll (we'll try to put a new one up every now and then), as it will help you start dreaming about what a CT remake might really be like... Then check back and join us as we endeavor to rewrite history, just as Crono, Marle, and Lucca would. 8)
