It's an excellent start. However, as a spriter myself, I can't help but notice that you saved it in the wrong format. If you save it as a PNG, you won't have those blurred areas and it should come out much clearer, like this:

Notice how there are no blurred areas? That's one way to make your spriting better.

It's a good rough draft I would say, but like everyone else is saying, it's crowded, and that will make it hard to navigate in game. Even if you never play on it, that makes it hard to visually find it as appeasing. Although it IS a good start.
