I own two versions of Pokemon Crystal, one for me and one for my
boyfriend, and I've been having trouble trying to connect them together
for trade and battle. One will save that it has to save before connecting
and then the other one tells me, friend is not ready. After the first one
saves I try to reconnect and it fails due to inactivity. What am I doing
wrong. I've tried just about everything I can think of. I trade between two
Gameboy Advance SPs and have never had a problem trading with
any other versions.

Does anyone know what to do or what is going on?

Yeah its the same cable I've used before and never had a problem before. I keep my stuff nice and orderly so no damage can be done to them. The cable is just fine, the cable slot is cleaned. I'll take my game to ComicCity to see if they can look at the games to see if one is damaged, but I'm sure its not that. When I switched the cable around it did the same so I know that one end is the master end. Maybe I'll go buy a whole new cable and see if that works.

Does anyone else know what it could be. I'm willing to try just about anything.

BearAstrophe :
My biggest question would be Where and When did you get the game?

A lot of people are illegally copying games and selling them on ebay. The GBA ones are easier to recognize, but I'm sure there are pirated versions of the others. They generally play perfectly fine, but when it comes time to link with other games, there are sometimes issues. I knew someone who was able to play a Pokemon Sapphire game easily enough, but it always froze when it was connected to Pokemon Colosseum.

If you got the game more recently, then there is a chance that your game is pirated. The only solution is to try to get a refund and get a copy of the game elsewhere.

P.S. If it's Pokemon Crystal Shards for GameBoy ADVANCE, then it's definitely a pirated version. That game is a hack. It was never released by Nintendo. It is basically the same as all the other Pokemon hacks on Vizzed. It was made for free download, not resale. People have been downloading it onto cartridges and selling them on Amazon and Ebay. I found one earlier today while looking around for Crystal.

I have owned these copies since they were sold in stores, so for quite a few years now. I've noticed the increasing numbers of pirated and hacked games being sold on ebay and amazon, but I personally don't buy from those sites (I just don't trust them for a number of reasons). The batteries work just fine and what not but with the ability to play the Pokemon titles here, I might just end up selling them, I could use the money anyhow.
Thanks anyhow BNuge.

They're going for upwards of $20 on Ebay if you do decide to sell them. I've been looking around and deciding whether to get Silver or Crystal for a while. Just letting you know.
Not meant as spam if it is.

Oh that is a tough one. You should go to a friend who knows a thing or two about technology (or make a friend like that). Sorry if my advice is just to get someone who can give you advice (lol). Hopefully there's a simple solution.
