hmm i wouldent say thats necceserilly true rpg's were BIG before 7 but it did help them along alot but i suppose i should now tell you my top 5 games

Personally none of them are better than FFIII and FFV. But If I have to pick it would be FFVII becuase the story was more interesting. I throughly enjoyed FFXIII though, although I have never disliked any FF games ever except XII I couldn't even finish that one all the way cause it was so bad.
