A few days ago I was playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for Sega Genesis in the Vizzed RGR and I ca,e across something rather odd. I was on the Hilltop Zone and came across what appears to be a Voltorb. Does anyone know if Nintendo may have helped Sega create Sonic the Hedgehog or is it something different. I just want an oppinion. Here is the snapshot I took:

Ummz... that doesn't really make any sense. Right now they're business partners (Sega is a software publisher anymore) but back then they were harsh rivals. So, no, I don't think that Nintendo helped.

Plus, Sonic 2 was released in 1992, where as the first Pokemon game was made in 95 if I got my dates right.

I don't think they really have anything to do with each other. It's just a simple fact that a lot of ideas are going to get repeated, there are just too many people in the world an absolutely original idea. If you go back further I'm sure you'll find a similar looking creature in some other game/show/movie.
