i have avast free antivirus,ive had it ever sense i formated this computer and my question is if theres a viruse or something inside a file/folder is there a chance that avast free wont find it?can you get a virus or something by just goin on a site?

I think you can get a kind of virus, even if you just visit a site. I think that, because I use avast pro and a few times it aborted the connection with a few sites, because it thought that these sites were suspicious. I can't be sure, if that was a real threaten or not though.
But don't worry, if you got a virus, you would noticed it in no time,lol I'm just kidding.
Nah don't worry, in my mind avast is the best and most effective anti-virus,(at least avast pro, that I'm using. I guess the free edition is reliable as well). So I think your PC or laptop is well protected

I use avast anti virus but after a few months it just said that avast has expired and it costs a lot of money to get an upgrade.

Um - the Avast home edition is completely free. All you have to do is register it, and then re-register once a year. I've been using it for years, literally. I positively adore the fact that they understand that having a solid and free antivirus program out there for home users is going to cut down on the places where virii can spread to - and from!
