Heyo! Have mentioned this problem in related threads and eagerly waited for at least a week and a half, a reply that would enlighten me about this problem!
Was happily playing Pokemon Emerald and I would save regularly and they would load up fine, until one day, my latest save didn't load. And instead, it loaded up an earlier save meaning that I lost about 6-8 hours of progress! It also didn't load up the previous save, but loaded up about like 5 saves back at least.. So.. I don't really fancy backtracking that far and especially if this problem may occur again.. I had also tried the next day, and the next, and the next to see if it would load up the correct saved state but it didn't -it just kept loading up the same saved state ages before.. I'm also extra keen to possibly get my latest saved state back as I caught a rare pokemon on the first time going into it's wee area haha! So is there a reason why I lost my save(s)? &Is it possible to get it back?

I dont know if this helps at all.

But I play these games offline because the games don't skip when you save that way.

But I have found that if you save while offline, then get online and try to load, it will load from the last time you saved online, not the last time you saved offline.

I did this while playing Golden Sun, and I lost a good 5-6 hours of playing.

So if you do play while offline, but had to jump back online for, say a walkthrough or something, be sure to save online before you try to load, or you will load back to your last saved file online, erasing all the saves you did while offline.

Another thing is i think you can go into where your save states are and reload the old file? Cause like i think you save one and a backup everytime you hit F2 so maybe they still have it on record. But i know your loss i once lost like a good 4 badges, 3 evolutions and 2 legendaries cause it backtracked to the day before -.-

gfletch09 : Thanks for your reply, I tried loading it offline/online to see if it made a difference, I also tried on a different computer to see if that made a difference but still no luck !

ignavusd : Oooh :O Do you know where you can go into old saves or that at all :O? &yeah total pain isn't it! I lost about 3 badges I think and a couple of evolutions on top of the rare pokemon! Really annoying!

i played the game and it did the same it just has a virus i think

But if what I wrote in my last post actually happened, then it is irreversible.

By loading online after saving offline for a long time, you load back the last time you saved online, thus deleting all that you have done offline since then.

Considering how this page works, I doubt you'll get your game back this way. This page allows you as a user to manually create backups of your saves. I don't think it does anything automatically. The first slot is the slot it saves to when you're playing. The other slots are backups that you save yourself. I use it so I can play a Pokémon game a second time without deleting my first save. I just back it up, then I can play and save to Slot 1 again.
