I don't like waking up early.
They should make school like 1 period a day for 2 1/2 hrs. at like 3 PM
And each day should be a different period.

I also don't like homework.
Teachers should be able to teach whatever they need to in the time they give us.
No need to take work home.

School here not early at all, it starts at 9 am though i do wake at 5 am most of the time I wish our school was earlier so that i got more time in the afternoon to go out but school ends at 3:30 pm and i get home at 4:00 pm giving me no time to go out and have fun.

Like everyone else i hate homework too but i guess without homework i would forget everything i have learned till now lol.

I really hate the way maths is taught (maybe its only here, but i hate doing soo many exercises with 50+ questions in them in a limited time

Believe me I could tell a few stories. In high school, I was quite the intelligent student (graduated Cum Laude to boot). In contrast to the rest of my class where they pretty much refused to keep their noise holes shut!! It gets worse, in my english class, I swear my classmates are just now learning how to read actual words on a page. It really makes me wonder how the heck they got this far in the first place. And trust me, I could gripe about my classmates until I'm blue in the face. That pretty much sums up my high school experience: retarded classmates.

M!cH@3l 001 : Well school didn’t really become a problem for me until and only until I reached High School. In part the biggest difference between High School and previous levels was merely the environment. For the most part, prior to entering High School the main agenda not just on my mind but on others mind were primarily focused on academics and then extra curricular activity.

It seemed that when I entered High School slowly but surely that changed and it eventually was like walking into a literal soap opera every day. I admit that I wasn’t the best I could be at this time in my life and eventually the environment coupled with the issues that I was dealing with led me to leave school which I will be honest is still a bit of a sore issue with me many years later.

I do believe though looking back on that time in my life that if the environment was a little easier to tolerate that I probably would have finished school without any problems. I do say often however, that I do not regret why I left school though I do have regrets of not finishing. Although I was able to eventually straighten myself out and move on to a career as a journalist it remains the monkey on my back so to speak that I have been unable to get off of me.

I have tried a couple of times to finish school but it hasn’t happened as of yet. Part of the reason is because after spending a couple of years trying to get a GED the program that I was in was cut and, although I almost immediately enrolled in correspondence school so I could finish school in my spare time from home, I haven’t been able to get going yet due primarily to obtaining my school records.

Part of the reason that I was unable to obtain a GED after spending a few years in a program was due to simply not preciously having access to some of the curriculum that was required to pass the test. For the most part I was able to breeze through a majority of it due to self-education of learning the stuff I was not given access to while in school. My major roadblocks were science and math though but as I said, a good majority of the curriculum that I had to learn I was not given access to while I was in school.

It is one of those scenarios which shows why some school systems don’t really care what a student may or may not know and think of that student or student (s) as merely a number…

One way that I make peace with myself for the setbacks that I have gone through in life is to give advice to young kids in the hope that I can help keep them from perhaps going down a similar path. Although I was a journalist before I even left school it has been challenging at times and even though I was faced with limited options as to what I could do and, although I have succeeded in what I have done so far career wise. I encourage kids to take an easier path than I did because the bottom line is I had to take a harder path to get where I needed to go in life and have paid and am still paying some heavy dues along the way.

wHAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT SCHOOL WAS HAVING TO WAKE UP SO EARLY TO LEARN! AS YOU CAN SEE I'M NOT A MORNING PERSON AT ALL. I'M SO GLAD IT'S OVER! WHAT I DID LIKE IS BEING ABLE TO SEE FRIENDS AND HANG OUT DURING LUNCH TIME. COLLEGE...I LIKE COLLEGE BECAUSE YOU PRETTY MUCH GET TO PICK YOUR SCHEDULE AS OPPOSE TO HAVING TO BE AT SCHOOL AT 9 IN THE MORNING IN HIGH SCHOOL. ALSO, IN COLLEGE THEY TREAT YOU LIKE THE YOUNG ADULTS THAT YOU ARE..NOT CHILDREN WHEN YOU CAN'T GO OUT FOR RECESS IF YOU DIDN'T COMPLETE YOUR HOMEWORK..THAT SORT OF THING.

YourMajestyKen : Knows the feeling… toward the end of my run in school I was basically pulling all nighters and going to school with no sleep. I would cat nap a little when I would go home but that was pretty much the routine until I left school. Again, do not recommend this to anyone…

I like school

I feel strange saying it, but I also like the homework.

I like to learn I tend to keep good grades in my classes and have maintained a 4.0 for the year so far.

I loved the freedom of making and working around my own schedule. I loved having only a few hours of class a day as opposed to the whole day being in high school.

I hated the amount of homework. SO much more work to do. Especially the reading. I found that nearly without fail a good 10-20% of tests came straight from the reading and you could easily jump a whole grade by just knowing some of that info.

I hated how boreing it was.If they made it more interesting to learn th stuff i would have stayed longer.I hated getting up at 5 in the morning cause my bus came by at six,and then the two hour bus ride.

I liked the lunches, and all the girls that went to my school. And some of the female teachers were cool.

I hate school because of how behind and inefficient our education system is. I've been ahead of the curriculum since I started school, and for the past 11 years in the school system I've learned basically nothing in school, I wish we could have classes with a more rigorous curriculum, personally I would like to take a course on theoretical and quantum physics, meta theory, genetics, advanced medical sciences, psychology, you name it. I'm really tired of this crap, if our schools were more efficient maybe people would start be productive.

What I dislike about school is my schoolmates. They're not bad but they're... not very bright. To explain this in the best way I can: they're those kind of kids who celebrate F grades. I work very hard to bring in my homework on time, study, and listen to what the teachers are saying, but these kids do none of these and none of the teachers really care! Not all of them are like this (like my friend Vin), but the majority of them are. I just feel like some time's it's not even worth it to try to get good grades. However, I continue to do my work.

Same here , but I actually LIKE this.

You heard me right, I said I like classmates (most of my class) who don't pay attention in class, the teacher scolding them WITHOUT them (classmates) learning anything from the lecture entertains me (Some do try, so I forgive them, others just dream or at least I think they are).

I am an okay student, I got highest for all subjects in the end year exams (reason above ) although I am not very sure about this one student who is at home due to behavior problems and did the exams at home (with a teacher motoring of course), he might have gotten higher then me in Maths and Science but I am the highest for English in my whole school level (my teacher told me), I still don't think getting 140/180 for everything in English is really that high.

What I dislike about school...self corrections.

In my school there is this thing called "corrections" I am sure every school in the country have something similar.
What happens is that we use a green pen to write down the right answers next to the wrongs, or something like that. I listen to the teacher explaining, I don't know much about the others around me though especially when one of my classmates can dream and not even know that the teacher is going though his wrong answer, lots of lecture due to this .

Now self corrections is similar but without the teacher, there are two types, one where you just copy down from the answer sheet and the other is you doing the questions again -on the original paper of course.

I want to talk about one of them at a time starting with answer sheet one, this is not really too hard but can get very long because I feel like the people who make answer sheets tries their best to make it longer then it has to be, today in school I did something like this in science and let me say, I got so tired that when all ended all I wanted to do was rest but I can't as I had to leave school then but at least I was eating after that .

The other is when you redo the questions, I dislike this because it is basically doing the questions again while knowing your answer is wrong, luckily it is normally only for multiple choice questions where you choose 4 choices (or 3).

That is all I really have to say, sorry for making a story (pun not intended) out of something simple, anyways to recap:

Like: everything, including dreaming classmates
Dislike: Self-Corrections and holiday homework (I don't really need to talk about this one).

I'm actually smart in school because I'm in all advanced classes, I have straight As but if I could choose whether or not to go to school, I'd choose not to. I would choose not to because I HATE waking up in the morning. I'm a heavy sleeper so waking up at 6 A.M. is why I'd rather not go to school.
