I thought you all might find this interesting. Check this thread out at the Chrono Compendium...

In the Chrono Trigger 10 Year Anniversary Thread, I brought up an idea that seems to be getting support: a series of Flash movies telling the Chrono Trigger story, using the game's graphics (and possibly including brief cutscenes, if time and resources allow) and incorporating voice acting instead of text dialogue, with Chrono Symphonic as the soundtrack.

The basic idea is that we would release 1 "chapter" of Chrono Trigger at a time, so the first episode would be "The Millennial Fair." We would progress continually, telling the story in an almost Red-Vs-Blue fashion. How often these episodes would be released remains to be seen. That'll depend on the number of Flash animators we can get, and their respective skills.

Hopefully we can get organized and release the first episode by the time of Chrono Symphonic's release, which should help advertise Symphonic. If I remember correctly, I *THINK* Symphonic is supposed to release on September 29th? The exact day of the 10-year anniversary, although some think it may be August 22nd. Either way, whatever. A simultaneous release would be awesome if we can pull it off.

So THIS is the thread for organizing the project!

We need at least 1 Flash animator,
1 person to help in the beginning with ripping sprites from the game (and I mean EVERY animation of EVERY sprite), along with the relatively brief task of extracting maps from the game, probably via Temporal Flux.
Several voice actors and actresses,
A couple of writers to expand the script a bit and make things a little more conversational (Example: What would Crono & Co say to each other when they behold Zeal for the first time?)

For starters, that Flash animator is the most important deal right now! Please talk to animators that you know and if they love Chrono Trigger, see if they'd be interested in working with this.

Hopefully soon after that, we'll be able to begin casting, while the writing will be taken care of simultaneously.

As I said in that thread, the Flash animator is most important right now. If this looks like it'll go places, we'll be getting our own server for it shortly. Currently we are talking with an animator who may be very useful with producing cutscenes, with designs by...well, I won't let that cat out of the bag yet. Designs by someone that you've probably heard of if you are a Chrono Trigger fan. I'm not saying who yet because I just haven't talked with this person enough yet to have a commitment. Rest assured, if this person comes on board (and hopefully even if not), we're going to rock the Chrono Trigger world. Check out the thread I linked to above for more info.
