and every time i connect to the internet it updates..does it seriously need to update every day?sometimes 2 times a day realy?

I have avast pro, and it updates every day too.
At 12AM it updates automatically. I think you can update it manually, if you wish(that means that you can update it, only when you want), but I think that having the latest virus data base is more safe. Besisdes, avast's updates never caused me any space problems at my hard drive.

I can't know for sure. I just guess that the company, which has avast, makes a new virus data base daily(for better protection obviously), and the program just download it automatically.
Since it doesn't create you any space or other issues, who cares about why? lol
