NotJon : That really isn't needed, actually. You can play the game without that, and if you want to do online battles, request for people to use non-EV'd Pokemon. I never EV during the game until I beat the story part, actually.

KlawedFlaw : I know, I'm just saying. Just knowing about it, opened Pandora's box for me. All I focus on now is building the best team possible and only defeating certain Pokes in battle. I hate it.

yeah it really is true and unfortunite i just wish there was a way anyone could find old games easily without needing a computer. alot of people love old games and get them anymore because of newer models and it sucks and i wish there was a way to get them easier thats all.
And when i was young pokemon was the best i had tons of cards being a stupid kid i tossed them away.
By the way i have 2 silver plated spyro 2+3 any idea what their worth i have no idea...

craz232 : Xbox Live arcade, Wii Virtual Console, Sonic's Ultimate Collection... Old games are strong as ever, and will always be. We got a site like this full of them. The companies are letting it stay up. We got companies milking the old games still with downloads on their consoles. Also, we've got people still making beautiful games in 2D. Remember that PS2 game that had beautiful 2D graphics? That's one of them.

It's a good thing that we have abandoned the cartridge format when you think about it. That format can't hold much, and look at Sonic's Ultimate Collection. A disc with Dreamcast games, Saturn games, and all the 2D classics. I'd rather play with the current controllers, anyway. The Playstation Dualshock line controllers fit my tiny hands best, for one. I can hold those much better than a Wiimote. This is one reason I prefer Playstation consoles. The controllers fit my hands best.

I can understand why you'd like a more solid format for the old games, but we've got collections of even the Intellivision games. We don't need to bring back the old consoles when we have collections coming out all the time. It sucks for some, but it's great for people like me who want their games in one place. I like the old cartridges as much as the next guy, but I like going to a menu and picking what game I wanna play more. It feels natural, and just feels more like I bought my say 40 dollars worth. Not to mention... The good collections are on Playstation consoles.

I might seem like a Playstation fangirl in here, but I'm just someone that grew up playing Spyro games and all the good stuff. I grew up on Sly Cooper. Ever since I found the amazing PS2 library for what it was recently, I have told myself never to give up on PS2. I will be playing it, buying slims when my bulky one dies, and loving it 'till the cows come home.

I started with the Genesis, but I prefer CD games. There's also a whole slew of remastered old school games coming out. That Rocket Mole whatever game is out, and remastered. Tons more are, too. The Wii is coming out with old school games remastered. I'm not counting those New Super Mario Bros. titles, either. Those don't really count, since they are NEW!

I miss playing Paper Mario on my N64. I can no longer convince my parents to rent it for me from Movie Gallery for two reasons:
1. I'm too old for that
2. No N64 games are there anymore and the chain is closed down, to my knowledge.

I still can enjoy playing it here on Vizzed, though, so no biggie.

For the people who miss playing Pac-Man, you can find those old school Namco arcade games in arcade cabinet form in plenty of places. My town's local pizza place has one that has Ms. Pac-Man and Galgaga or Galaxian. It also has a Donkey Kong arcade cabinet, I think. You just gotta look around in local small businesses sometimes. To be honest, I'd rather support the local small businesses, anyways. You can also try seeing if your resident settlement area has maybe a store that specializes in selling gaming stuff from new to old. I never knew my town had one, but it actually does. It's actually a pretty popular store among the people who are gamers here, too.

If all else fails, ROMs and online shopping are a good alternative. I prefer going to stores despite not being a fan of socializing, but it just feels more natural to me. I don't want digital services to replace our old fashioned small businesses, as well.

Other good places to find old games, actual Game Genies(and other similar devices), and other gaming stuff include thrift stores, yard sales, local auctions, and many other places. I found some old second generation console controllers at a thrift store once. Also found a Game Genie at the same thrift store.

Good luck, everyone.

I really am quite content with today's gaming industry. It may be shifting to a more casual thing, but isn't casual gaming in our hobby's history? Wasn't the Atari 2600 probably the console to house the most "casual" games? To say the casuals are ruining gaming is to say you reject your roots.

I miss super Mario RPG.

Finding a new one is really hard.
Unless you buy it online but then it costs allot of money.
All the ones in stores are used.

I also miss when you could always find a fresh copy of paper mario at your local stores.

I miss walking into a store and looking at N64, Sega Saturn and PS1 games. (and maybe be lucky enough to see Sega Genesis)
Edit: Can't believe I forgot about the Sega Dreamcast! That system is amazing.

I miss the good-old games .

Honestly, those games were supposed to be the best, no matter how many new games releases, the old games are always the top .

I miss the good old days when Tomb Raider was a challenging game and when games came in cartridges and lasted years and years and years

----------
PS2: Fine.
Mega Driver with 71 games: Nice.
Super Nintendo bought at the fair for US$ 25,00: Double Nice.
Turbo Game VG9000T bought at the same fair for US$ 5,00: Just Great.
Black Mega Driver 3 found in a trash can with 4 cartridges: works like a charm.
Long in the tooth Atari: running smoothly
Xbox360 Falcon bought for US$ 700,00, used for 6 months: May devil be with it and guard it.
