I've played quite a few games where Cloud and Sephiroth fight. In all of them Sephiroth tells Could that he will contiue to make reasons for Cloud to fight. I haven't played all of them, so I don't know where they begin. Could someone fill me in?

Cloud is just a boy from a mountain town who happened to become a lower class soldier and Sephiroth is just a former-soldier psychopath. Cloud's mother was only mentioned a few times and it never said she had siblings. It never mentioned Sephiroth's mom havin siblings either.
