Be sure to have a few different emulators that emulate the same console. Some don't always work with every game. This is especially important to know when you dive into the Sega CD and 32X games, as well as other similar add-ons for other systems. There's also the off-chance that a game for pre-Master System Sega consoles will be labeled as Master System games just for convenience. I have a rom of the game Dragon Wang(yes, I have it for the name. It's a decent game, if you can get it to work) that is not for the Master System, but some console Sega only released in Japan. It still is called a Master System game in some emulators.

Now getting into patching roms can be tricky in some cases, and easy in others. To put the English patch into Mother 3, just drag the patch to it. I've tried patching old Pokemon games, and nothing works for me. Really, you gotta know what you're doing in some cases. For example, in a Sega Genesis emulator that supports Sega CD games, I have to do certain things to get them to work. Now, if I wanna play Doom for the 32X, I just gotta click on the file.

DOS emulation takes tons of time and patience for games like I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. Some games will take random button mashing to start up(this is not in a literal sense). I got I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream to work in an odd way. I messed with everything and it worked. I have a rom for another DOS game that does not work no matter how hard I try to get it to.

If you get into using DOS game emulation, remember, it's much more complicated than what you may be used to. You'll find yourself having to actually use the Read Me, in fact. I don't know about later system emulation, and I refuse to even try to understand how one plays a DS game on an Emulator. Maybe the DS emulation is only possible to use if you have one of those touch screen PCs?

There's a few good sites for DOS roms if you want those. I'll need to look them up again if you do need them, though.

KlawedFlaw : DS emulation actually works pretty easily just use the mouse for the touch screen, now I'm not sure bout the mike though, my comp is just a little to old for DS emulators until they get quicker or I get a computer thats quicker I'll just use my real DS.

KlawedFlawed: Do you know of an emulator that will play Mortal Kombat 1 for sega CD I've tried fusion with a couple different bios and can't get past the opening skit, and some of it your kindda making too cmplicated cuz u can find most of the roms already patched for you. I'll agree with dos emulation though it can be a bit rough I've been trying to play Warcraft II and Starcraft I for years now cuz I can't getem ot work. Oh and your definetly right about sometimes needing more than one emulator, usually I get a favorite that works for almost all the games for that system but will still keep 2 or 3 backup emulators in case I run into a rom that won't play on my normal emulator.

fightorace : I have yet to find an emulator that works for Sega CD. I do plan to do a Let's Play of the game Wild Woody just for a laugh and fun, so maybe I could seek 'em out. I can't promise that I'll remember to tell you, but I will say what emulator was used in the description for the Wild Woody Let's Play videos. Haha.

Gonna try out Gens once I finish the Wild Woody download again.

KlawedFlaw : KFusion or just Fusion I'm not sure xactly cuz I've been taking advantage of it for years I quit paying attention to the name. Emulates SMS, GG, Genesis, 32X, and Sega CD, CD is the buggies and Mortal Kombat doesn't work but a lot of them do Ecco, The Sonic games, NBA Jam.I freakin love emulators take NBA jam for example. I'll have it running on 32X, genesis, and super nintendo and mybe N64 all at the same time on my screen just to compare them side by side. I especially love comparing 32X with SNES games, it sound kinda weird as i type it, but I do get a kick out of it so what the H**L.

fightorace : I like to use Kfusion. I prefer my emulators to have a recording setting, as I am still a Let's Player. Just haven't made by debut yet.

fightorace : Let's Players are people who make videos of themselves playing video games with commentaries. Wild Woody... It's either a video game that had the misfortune of being named... Wild Woody. It's for the Sega CD.
