Hello, I was looking in the RGR and I saw that there were hacked rom games of Pokemon, and I never knew that you could do that until last night. I looked around and decided it would be interesting to try and make a hack for Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire or LG/FR. So my question is What are all of the Programs I would need to download for this, or where could I go to get all of the programs necessary to start this.

It would be highly appreciated if somebody could help me out!

I wonder how hard ROM hacking a pokemon game would be... I may just give it a go myself I bookmared them.

If i was you i would look for some tutorials online because they helped me alot and I think I'm pretty good.

Anyone else, feel free to share info, safe download sites, and/or legal info (meaning unofficial advice).

The legal standpoints? Completely legal as long as you don't redistribute for money, or hack into one of the DS versions wait tell the 3DS comes out (When they don't care very much anymore.)

Those are the 4 programs that haven't been mentioned in this thread yet that were advised on that site.

EDIT 1: The Advance Text isn't working. When I tried to open it, I got an error message:

Component 'comctl32.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

That is the exact message. Any guesses at why it didn't work?

EDIT 2: I poked around and found a YouTube video that fixed it.

Download this file that I found by right clicking on the download link on the site and clicking "Save Link As" (it's "Save Target As" in IE). When you go to save it, change the format to All Files instead of HTM and replace the ".htm" with ".ocx" Ignore all of the quotes when actually typing:

Watch this video and do as it says. You may have to slightly modify some of the file info to match your system. Ex. He used some sysWOW64 folder, but I had to use System32:

BNuge : Yeah sorry about that, I ran into that problem to but completely forgot.
Anyway advanced starter is great, advance mart is optional, and over world editor coincides with your skills with advance map.

Anyway I'm glad I could help and I encourage everyone who likes pokemon to give hacking a try, it's actually quite easy.
