So, anyone who read my about me thread knows I was a Marine. I saw vary little action though, due to a terrible leg injury I encountered during my first year. Well this knee has had me out of work for, about two years. (Its been three years but for one I was fighting off cervical cancer) But anyway, Monday I go back to work, its nothing major, I will be working at Taco Bell at the local mall until I finish college.. which is another three 1/2 to four depending on weather or not I decide to stick with my current degree or not.

Anyway..I just felt like typing this up to give the people I've gotten to know on here a heads up to whats been going on.. So yeah.

Sounds very good to me! A new work might help you to clear your mind from bad thoughts and start thinking more about the future At least this works with me, whenever I try new things in my life.

OKay so.. I've been back to work for two days and I have to say.. holy cow on a Popsicle! I feel like I am going to break in two. I am so outta it, this is going to be some rough going but I can do this!

I wish you the best of luck with your new job… I know what it feels like to be laid up for an extended period, I never had an accident or anything like that but I was born with Cerebral Palsy and I have had at least six or seven operations on my legs out of ten surgeries total so I know what a bummer it is to be laid up. I wish I could physically handle manual labor or something along those lines because I would gladly go and work eight hours and then work on my writing at night if I could make more money.

It definitely isn’t easy to survive in a recession especially in a state where the only real industry around is telemarketing nonsense…

When I read you were out of work from the Marines I figured it was from a knee injury. Being in the Army myself it's the type of injury I hear about most in the military, especially from Airborne activities. What happened to your knee that it got messed up?

Cyro Xero : The short story is I was hit by a armored personal vechical. The details make it kinda drawn out and long. lol

Well, no need to do that then. I already know what that was like. Sucks. I've been in for almost 13 years. I'm glad my knees are doing great. It's something I don't take for granted.

I hurt my knees playing football. That's so lame compared to how you hurt your knees.

Well I like to think of Florida as a place that is great for vacationing and such but it’s not the best place to live in especially in a recession… Between dodging hurricanes “Officially” six months out of the year there really isn’t anything down here other than telemarketing. I spent six months working for HSN about a decade ago and I enjoyed it for the most part until I was let go.


Since then, I have tried several times to work telemarketing jobs and I never really made it passed a week. One reason is because I never liked lying to people and or harass people but the other major drawback is that there is such a high turnover in those type of jobs where one can really feel secure even if their comfortable in what they do. Because of my disability I can’t really do manual labor physically though my mind would certainly be willing to if I could.


I have settled into a career as a writer which isn’t the easiest way to make a living especially when you are a freelancer. It’s rough but I do keep optimism that eventually all my years of hard work and legitimately learning the craft of being a writer and paying my dues will finally pay off.


I do wish though that there was a legitimate job I could do out of my house as I do with my work so that I could make some extra income. I did do data keying for a while but I wasn’t making the kind of money that I needed to make at the time and after six months it became fiscally irresponsible for me to stay with that company.

I hope that your injury has healed and that you are about to work pain free… How has it been going with your job?
