Everyone complains about illegal immigration, and have nothing good to say. The fact is, illegal immigration isn't all that bad. The only arguments against it are A) they are overpopulating the USA, and B) they are taking jobs away from us. Well my arguments are A) overpopulation by illegal immigrants is COMPLETELY untrue, and B) it is true that they might take jobs away, but at the same time, regular people pay for cheap work at a fast pace, and it saves us money. And don't even get me started on the whole "well, they don't pay taxes" debate, because the only tax they don't pay is income tax. Well, I believe I've stated my views, but what about you? What's your take on illegal immigration?

Actually the worst thing about it is that if they are illegal, they're not filing taxes which is VERY bad for our economy. Also a LOT of them send money back to Mexico which is yet again VERY bad for our economy. Overall, it's just really bad for our economy.

Well it depends of witch side you ares looking at on the USA they take jobs,they take american money that doesnt return to america,you said the no tax thing , from their side they get money for their their families.Just depends what side you are on I gess

I don't think that it is as bad for the economy as most people say it is, but illegal immigrants aren't doing America any favors either. So overall I think it is a bad thing for the US. But even worse are the people knowingly hiring illegal immigrants. Those people are higher up on the criminal meter then illegals, to me at least.

My profession is construction and I have been laid-off too many times. It is the illegals that the employers want to hire because they can pay them less and charge more taxes.

Yeah, I can see where all of you are coming from, and it has its ups and downs. Although I'm sure you can think of PLENTY more downs, there really isn't much we can do about it. To make them legal (my genius friend did his research) would cost us a couple billion dollars. But strengthening the border would ALSO cost us a lot, even if we have the weapons and materials already. At the same time, strengthening the border could create new jobs, so it's really confusing to me.

Legalizing all of the illegal immigrants (not even including all the ones that would come over after we started the legalizing process) would cost us a couple billion dollars, and that would only further hurt our already trashed economy.

The legalization process is just too counter-productive. It's too confusing and costly. We would be better off if we just left them alone for now. We could always legalize them later, when our economy was in a better state.

Well many illegal immigrants come to this country because it is very bad where they are from. If their country was more economically stable, they wouldn't be coming here. Many of the farmers in Mexico for example can't make any money just growing crops. Often times, these farmers are forced by drug lords to help grow marijuana and what not. They either do it or they die.

Also, about the economy, illegal immigrants have a much lesser impact than the people at Wall Street. I don't understand how the stock market works, and that's why it's evil. No one does. It goes up and down and no one sees it coming. However, I know that many of the big people behind say Sallie Mae did not invest wisely and now the rest of us have to pay for it.

Blame the less than 1% of the population that has 94% of the money for the recession.

I wouldn't be surprised if the government wanted to grant illegal immigrants amnesty. There are approximately 11 million illegal immigrants in the US currently. Thats a nice little chunk of change they could make off of taxes.

Yes, but here's the thing: granting them amnesty WOULD bring money in, but the legalization process that goes with granting amnesty to them would cost even more than the taxes we get from them would. And either way, the only tax illegal immigrants don't pay is income tax.

i think illegal immigration is a bad thing because i think people can't just come into the country without earning citizenship in America first.

I don't even live in the US, but like David said, it is extremely bad for the economy.

In order for things to work... For there to be enough money to run schools, EVERYONE has to pay their fair share. If a bunch of people don't pay it, the economy is put under strain and everyone else has to pay the way for those people.

Where I live we have a similar problem. People build giant houses with two suites and move in five families, but they do it secretly/illegally only pay tax for ONE family. This puts a HUGE strain on our community, namely the school system, because there are a lot of new families with children, but the government is not collecting enough money to put that many kids in school. Meanwhile these idiots are wondering why teachers aren't being paid enough.

It's totally wrong and unfair to citizens who are honest and do pay their taxes. We end up paying for these people.
