The Frieza saga was kind of wierd. Frieza was supposed to be the strongest in the universe, but after SS1,2,and 3 he's more like the weakest. Compared to the Saiyan race he is nothing.

Ahah, yeah I remember that. Maybe they all moved really fast and talked really fast, and the series was done in slow motion. And maybe five minutes where Frieza is from, or on Namek, is a lot longer than the 5 minutes we're used to. They like to drag things out sometimes though on DBZ, there's probably a few episodes where the entire episode is just Goku charging up trying to get to the next super saiyan level.

and Frieza was the most powerful in the universe at that point. The Sayains were weak compared to him, Cell was not created, Buu was still trapped in that little ball. Who else would challenge him? There were plenty of stronger fighters within a short time frame of frieza showing up though

him easily would be Kaio-shin. Later on in the series when Buu
is first introduced the current kaio-shin said that he was
strong enough to destroy Frieza with a single blast.

Another possibility would be that androids #19 and #20. I'm
not entirely sure if the androids would be up to the task,
because they state that they've only viewed the DBZ people
up till Goku's battle with Vegeta. So they no nothing about
Frieza, witch makes me a bit sceptical of there ability to win.
But they do appear to be reasonable strong, so they might have a chance

Yeah that irritated me a little bit. I love DBZ and all but the fights with the bad guys take way to friggin long. I actually counted the number of episodes it took for Goku to defeat Freiza. It was twenty episodes. That's to dang many episodes for one fight. Not to mention how long the Cell and Buu fights are.
