well, I've noticed that quite a few of the religious debates around here don't really go anywhere so I've decided to lay down a sort of challange.... or, I'm offering to be a helpful type person in the theological type world...

basically what I'm looking for is someone with an issue or a question about the Bible, like a person, or event.... or a certain Christian belief that isn't understood, or that maybe someone disagrees with and wants to say why...

that sort of thing...

however, one rule.... all arguments must be based, at least loosely, around the Bible....

this is wanted to be a Christian thread.... so, yeah.... the floor is open.... whoever wants it, take it...

oh, and I may not reply for a little while.... first of the month means I'm moving.... so, you may not see me here for a couple days...

OK Dokey. Lets talk about the DINOSAURS and what happened to them according to the Biblical Timeline. I beleive they didn't perish in the flood. I believe Dinosaurs are actaully the Reptiles of today. Reptiles grow and grow untill they die. I don't really want to rehash the whole Hydrogen shell theory... But People in the old testament lived to be 900 years old, and I beleive the preflood envirement was such that reptiles could also live for a very very long time and grow to become huge. I don't believe the BULL crap scientists on most of the things they say. They have no idea how old the earth is or how they carbon date things. All of it is speculation.



Topic number 2 In the old testament it says that the sons of god came down and mated with the daughters of man. What is all that about? The bible says the result were Nephlem or somthing. I guess some of the definitions of the word means GIANTS. IE. Goliath. What do our Board Scholors say about that?

Please if you say somthing try to write over 7 words... Really I mean its not hard.

Dinosaurs is probably a really skecthy topic. The Bible seems to mention Dinosaurs in Job Ch. 40 and Ch. 41. It also mentiones the Leviathan (ch 41). How much is literal is up for grabs. But I have heard chapter 40's iss***ration to be a hippo or a elephant. Niether of those work because each has a very small tail and ch. 41 says it has a tail like a tree or something to that extent.

Topic 2. Ok I think that is spelled wrong but I am not thinking straight enough to go find it. sons of God could mean fallen angels (if they were angels they would probably have to be fallen angels) or it could mean sone of men that follow God went astray and did that. I have heard that the word could mean giants but it's mentioned twice I think in the Bible. I am tryinng to remember what I heard it means right now I am wanting to say something to the effect of evil people.

I went to sleep at 6 o'clock this morning and got up at noon so if this doesn't make sense you know why.

sons of God were definately -NOT- fallen angels...

the sons of God were righteous people, and the daughters of men were unrighteous....

the reason I think it is this way is because in verse 3 of chapter 6 (Genesis) it says that "My spirit shall not always strive with man..."

to me this signifies that these marriages weren't approved of or sanctified etc by God and that they led the sons of God away from righteousness....

Yeah really followers of God that went astray is probably the better one. The other just doesn't seem to work.

well.... the other one doesn't work well because most people don't think angels of any sort have gender to begin with...

so being able to mate doesn't really make sense

True. Very true. That was one reason I more or less ruled it out as well.
