I just got back from work for the last time this week, and I am ecstatic. Why am I ecstatic? Because for the last 10 days, we've been serving roughly 800-2000 people a day, where for slow days we will serve like 50-80, and busy days we serve 300ish.

With all the chaos in the kitchen with people not restocking before leaving, the final service I had, (12pm to 1am) was completely whack. At one time we had about 30 orders waiting to get out. Uuuuwaaaaahhh!!

Now though, the chaos is complete and complete harmony can once again ensue! And with days off again, I can come visit my favorite board, Vizzed, again! Woo-wooooo! So that is what I have been up to for the last week/week and a half.... I hope you enjoyed my life rant! Haha!

Juliet : I guess, mostly with the line "with people not restocking before leaving" .

I wonder if you are getting paid extra for that insane service, what restaurant you working at. By the way you said what happened, it looks as if it took place in a normal restaurant (not fast food or famous, for example : just that one down the street )

You should be happy to got a job though, since many people are still struggling .

The only extra pay we got was overtime...so, (thinks in the head) 7(days)X9(hours on average)= 63 + 7 (hours more from last 2 days) = 70. 70-40(regular pay)=30 (hours overtime). Woot! big cheque! lol.

I feel really sorry for the three people on salary (our chef, our sous-chef and our top cook 1) because they worked 6-11 all day every day, and they got payed the same as a regular 40 hour week....

Also, the food that we served, or better yet that *I* served is mostly pub style food, like club sandwiches, nachos, chicken wraps, fish and chips ect, but all together we have that, a patio bbq featuring salmon, lobster, mussels ect, a standard hot dog, hamburger, sausage bbq, and our main restaurant, a 225 seater buffet with like salad bar, soup, chowder, desserts, chocolate fountain and 12 item buffet line with carvery.
