Well obviously AMD is gettign bigger. Which do you guys prefer tho? AMD or Intel.

Well i've alot of Intel proccesors... and only 2 different AMD proccessors. My Intel which is a 3.0Ghz proccessor is definately better then the AMDs i used(1.2Ghz and 1.8Ghz) but i'd have to say that my sisters 1.7Ghz Intel isn't nearly as good as the 1.8Ghz AMD. AMDs dual-core launch is May 31st. As of May 18th Intel hit a delay on dual-cores. Does anyone think that AMD could catch up by a major number if dual-core is a great succes? Also which proccesor do you guys prefer?

No i say that because i know what i'm talking about. Certain types of processors have faults that others don't. Intels new HP leaves certain files open if some1 is smart enough to reconize the pattern which is a draw back for their server buissness. AMDs werent too good for servers untl sempron versions.

I plan on becoming a micro processor engineer atm. So i've been trying to stay current with most news in proccessing

I would think AMD is aiming more towards a gaming first proccessor and makeing different versions for other other things where intel is aiming for a overall picture.

AMDs devolopement team is obviously quicker with dual comming out a couple of weeks after intel hit a problem with it.

Im more of a fan of AMD processors, they're cheaper than their intel coutnerparts and work well for gaming.

John you could always google....I dont know much and dont take my word directly but apparently AMD processors have a much more efficient clock cycle hence why Intels need a much higher rate to match the performance. Although Intels cooling technology seems to be pretty far ahead of AMD's.
