~ Fate OF A Butterfly ~ By LunaRoseAngel

Observing the struggles
Of a young butterfly
Was a man quietly sitted,
In an attempt to emerge
From its little cocoon.

Appearing thus was an opening
At one end of its cocoon
Making young butterfly struggle
In a fight to step into the world,
Forcing its way hour upon hour.

Feeling deeply sorry for its plight
Was he, deciding to help poor butterfly.
So with a pair of scissors he went,
Snipping open its little cocoon
Making young butterfly emerge,
To be disappointed by wrong expectation.
For poor butterfly's body was swollen
With small shrivelled wings.

A continued watch he kept,
Holding strong his expectations
That poor butterfly's wings
May spring forth its shape,
Completing its transformation
To hence forth fly away
Into bright sunny atmosphere.

It happened not, quite disappointingly
Making butterfly crawl on young feet
With swollen body and shrivelled wings
For the rest of its miserable life
And not for once managing to fly.

Poor foolish man he proved out to be
With such misguided kindness and haste
Understanding not the nature of butterfly.
For the restricting cocoon and struggle
That's required of young butterfly
To make it forth through tiny opening
Was nature's way of forcing fluid
From young butterfly's body into its wings,
Expanding them thus for flight preparation.
------
A late summer day,
Very far away.

The sound of thousands of bugs in the ditch,
The fog, settling around, makes your skin crawl and itch.

The cool night air around you;
Birds chirping, all around you.

The leaves rustling on the trees;
Gives speech to the breeze.

Smells of freshly cut grass;
Yard lights glinting off of glass.

An old, ancient farm, going modern;
Like an old, ancient sovereign.

Beauty and words, cannot describe;
The magic, on a farm, that is alive.

The blue of the world,
The black of the world,
The stars of the world,
The secrets of the world,
All on a farm.

Bats fly by, there’s no denying,
That tonight, bugs will be dying.

Now dark clouds cover the sky,
Kissing the bright afternoon sunshine good-bye.
