im playin final fantasy 6 advance (obviously sence i asked a question about it in the other thread)anyways why does it take so long to attack?that bar takes forever to fill up can i take it off? or is that not a good idea?

Final Fantasy VI has an "Active Time Battle System".
From the FF6 GBA manual-

"Time is always flowing during battle. You will be prompted to choose battle commands for each party member whenever the character's ATB gauge becomes full. Time continues to flow even while you are selecting commands, so don't expect enemies to wait around while you decide what to do. If you set the battle mode to "Wait" in the Config menu, time will stop while you are selecting abilities, items, or magic spells from submenus in battle."

You cant turn the bar off. The amount of time the bar takes to fill depends on how high your speed stat is.

"Speed - Affects the amount of time between turns in combat"

The higher your speed stat is the faster the bar fills.
