I'm a singer who doesn't play any instruments so I know what the notes are, how long you hold them out, and what position is what on the lines (like a,b,c,d....). But if someone pointed to a note on the scale and told me to hum it I wouldn't be able to. I can't really tell the difference between the sharps and flats either,

For guitar, yes. I can read tabs somewhat. I still have problems with reading them, but meh. I don't know how to read any other sheet music, as I don't plan on playing any other instruments except my voice, guitar, and harmonica. I could learn drums, as well, but I'm not really the kind of person who is made for that. I'm pretty easy to tire. I might want to learn bass someday out of curiosity, but not for now.

Pretty sure I read sheet music for keyboard, which I could play again if I was doing an electronic song, and maybe sheet music for the recorder. Those were forced upon me in music class. I don't plan to ever use my recorder again out of the painful memories of making ears hurt due to my problem with volume control. Any wind-based instrument is a bad idea to teach me unless it's one I like. I have a speech problem that makes me have a hard time knowing how loud I'm talking, which can be a hassle for simply daily life.
