Definitely not. I avoid lending out my possessions unless necessary (which is rare). I have had instances in the past where I did not get my stuff back, so that has become a big no for me. That is unless I am borrowing something else relatively equal, which I can in turn use as collateral.

No I don't have many friends but one works at the gaming store he let me borrow Castlevania: Aria Of Sorrow But somehow i went completely paranoid thinking he just don't trust me after he called me the grim reaper behind my back as I walked away from a discussion about "Will evil still be around after 2012?"If the Theory  is real.

Like some people here, I used to lend some of my possessions to others. But not anymore, as I don't get them back from certain individuals. Along the same lines, I'm not going to have anybody over at my apartment in the future, because I've gotten burned in the past. (an ex, someone whom I thought was a good friend, and someone else who insulted me and whom I'll never forgive for his own sake)

I don't find myself letting people borrow my stuff that often, but that might be because people don't really ask me. When my stepbrothers used to live here, they would ask to borrow my 360 controller often. I would always get it back, but sometimes not until like a week after the fact, only for them to ask to borrow it again. :/ That was annoying.
I also occasionally let my friend borrow video games, as she has done so for me, and that's always worked out fine as we always returned them to each other after we were done (sometimes I wouldn't even finish the games though because I lose interest or whatever).
I don't really lend people money either..except for my mom, but she hasn't asked to borrow money in awhile.

No, I do not often let people borrow things that belong to me. But it's not like I don't. If I do let someone borrow things from me, I keep track of everything borrowed, the value of the borrowed item (in case it gets stolen or damaged, e.t.c), so they pretty much have to sign a 'contract' as soon as they ask to borrow something from me. I do not have high trust levels for most people, so I am cautious about the distribution of what belongs to me. However, some people I trust and if I lend anything at all it usually is lent to a trusted person.

A situation in which I would let someone I don't trust (someone I don't really know well) borrow something from me:
For example, if someone I don't know well asks for a, say, a pencil, I would give it to them usually for a day or an hour or so...but I would be keeping a close eye and an ear tuned to make sure they're not abusing my belongings.

A situation where a Trusted person I know well asks me for something to borrow:
It would be with less restriction. For example, if a friend asks me for something it first depends on what the item is, the value and how much I care about it. If it's something like a pencil, just keep it. If a family member asks me for something of mine, sure, why not?

A situation where someone I don't trust asks me for something of mine:
Eh, go ask someone else. OR I might not reply. I just don't trust them, so why give them something (unless you were testing them)?

So yeah, I am careful about my belongings but it is not like I am a person who doesn't lend stuff; because sometimes I do (but rather, in a cautious matter depending on the situation).

Also, if it's a valuable that does or doesn't belong to me, I'd say no to letting someone borrow it (again, depending on who they are.)
If I ever lent something from someone (which is extremely rare) then I pay them back for it or return the item. I try my best to take care of items lent to me, because I try to earn respect and trust from the people I know. Overall, I don't let people borrow things from me that much. I have trust policies and I keep tabs (or keep track, whatever you prefer) of what is borrowed and make sure it is returned.

Uh... it depends. I guess I really have to trust them, and my sister is not one of them any longer. My sister recently messed up my laptop, and now I have to pay 200 bucks to get it fixed. So I guess not that often. :/

You should only lend your items to people you trust, and my litle rule is If I do lend something to someone; I make sure they have the money to replace it if it gets broken, stolen, lost etc..

I have temporarily traded games with friends before, but I rarely let anyone borrow any of my things. I guess I'm just not very trusting/ don't have very many things anyone would want to borrow from me.

Even though I once let my friend borrow my 3DS for the night.

I think the only time I let someone borrow something of mine is when I possibly don't need it, like some video game for instance, or if someone really needs a specific something for a good reason. Other than that the only people I lend stuff to are the friends I can literally trust my life with. Everyone else...they need one heck of a good reason to borrow something because i'll eventually expect it to be returned and in good condition.

No. No. No. I guess you could call me selfish. I hate for people to borrow my stuff. Especially my phone. I will let a friend make a call or text because I know what it feels like to not have a phone but I keep an eye on them. I don't trust anyone with my stuff I guess. I make a small exception with my family sometimes.

No I never ever let anyone borrow my stuff especially my favorite possession. I would never them borrow a video game neither my music cd. So I could not trust anyone who borrow stuff and never came back. I just don't feel comfortable with other and some time I over protect my music cd. There are reason that I won't let anyone borrow and I just don't trust at all.

Never, I normally keep to myself anyway, and try not to interact with people outside of my house unless I have to. In the past I have made the mistake of lending things to people and they return damaged or not at all. So I just avoid people altogether these days pretty much.

I'm okay with letting certain people borrowing my stuff.
But it also depends on what it is.
If it is a movie then fine take it,
if it a video game then no way.... you want it you buy it xD...
I haven't had luck when people borrow my video games
Once I managed to " Lose " a PlayStation 2 game for over 3 months before my friend " found " it and gave it back.

I let my friends borrow my stuff all the time. My brother is borrowing my x-box 360 right now, and a lot of my friends borrow game systems or books of mine. They always give them back because they're nice.

I lend my pens out at school, but now I think it's a bad idea, so I will only let them borrow my things, if they are sitting next to me.
