Is there a significant person in your real life, that you look up to him/her?

As long as me, I still look up to my high-school tutor. She was teaching us how to translate ancient greek language. She was really cool and smart. She was the reason, that I liked translating ancient texts that much. Maybe she is also the reason, that I'll become a teacher in 1,5 year,lol.

Anyway, how about you?

The only person that I can think of that I actually looked up to was my older brother. He's a bit of a hippie XD

I look up to my friend and co-worker who taught me how to be a good moderator, work well with newbies and troublesome members.

I look up to my teachers as well for being so smart and teaching me to be smart! There are also a few celebrities I look up to like Michael Jackson and Bruce Lee.

WvoulfeXX : There is no big difference in the pronunciation with new greek language.
So yes, I can undrestand, read & speak(merely) ancient greek. But it's too difficult to make a whole conversation in ancient greek
Besides, the main concern of our teaching system, is to teach us how to undersand and translate ancient texts, not speaking the ancient language.

I try to look up to myself I suppose, although, my friends help a lot.

The non-cheesy answer would be Andres Torres. If you haven't heard of him, he is a Major League Baseball player. He's spent much of his career in the Minor Leagues. However, in December of '08, he was picked up by the San Francisco Giants. He got called up and played well in the playing time that he was given. This year however, he proved that he wasn't a fluke last year. The man may be small, but, he is strong, hard working, fast, and practiced hard everyday to finally earn a permanent spot on a Major League roster. Although he is 32, he plays as if he is 22. He is the definition of a 5 tool player (hits for average, power, runs well, fields well, and throws well; in other words, the complete package). This doesn't happen very often which really goes to show how a little hardwork and dedication to your craft can pay off one day.

I look up to my friend Sarah. She's smart, good-natured, and nice to almost everyone. I don't think I've ever heard a mean word come out of her mouth. Plus she's doing really great in college. I want to be like her one day.

Yeah, I've looked up to a few people in my life. Most notably a couple youth guys who helped me out when I needed it.

I have looked up to my karate instructor ever since I met him. I actually look up to two of them, but I'll stick with the one I know better.

He's a year older than me and is a recognized MMA fighter. He is also one of 4 Head Instructors at the karate school I go to and has been on the demo team for as long as I've known him. He is also shorter than me, but I'm dead scared of him whenever we spar. He kicked me in the head once and I just fell over. It was a spinning kick so it was a lot stronger than most. I vaguely remember seeing him start to turn around. The next thing was me on the floor. I thought he knocked me out, but he said he didn't. He was trying to teach me to keep my hands up. He knew I could take the hit and he had reminded me at least 5 times. I just wasn't focused on it enough. I have since forgiven him and we still get along.
