Although I'm a fan of pikachu, I believe that bulbasaur is the best starter of all editions. He has cool attacks, such as sleep powder, poison powder and razor leaf.
Besides he has an advantage against water, rock and ground pokemons.

i like mudkip beacuase he is immune to lightning unlike other water starters.i also like cindiquil and chikorita but pikachu is beast beacuase the light orb doubles sp attack. i have to go with either mudkip beacuase only grass super effects him and he's super cute. but i really like pikachus pre-evolved form pichu he's my 3rd favorite pokemon. sigh.....if only eevee was a starter.

to me it would be the old ones because the new ones arent better then most the other ones it deppends.But I like the old ones better because the have beter defence but less attack.

Cyndaquil because it is only fire. It isn't given any extra weaknesses like bulbasaur does when it evolves into Venasaur. Cyndaquil is always only weak against rock, ground, and water, never anything else. When torchic evolves into blaziken it gains a weakness to psychic and flying. I hate that.
