There are some Japanese language-only games that I would like to play, but I simply don't understand the language.

There are translation patches out there on the internet for some of these games, but only some translated games are on this site.

I was wondering if we could match the translation patches to the games on this site. Rock Man EXE 4.5 is an example: The game is on this site, and there is a translation patch out there, but the patch has not been added.

I know there are some translated games on this site, and I thank you for this. I would like to help add more to that number.

I would first like to know if this idea is even plausible.

If it is, then would it be alright to establish an unofficial thread for finding and alerting the vizzed staff to the existence of translation patches that can be combined with games on this site? Or assign that purpose to this thread? If this thread is assigned that purpose, I will edit it to accommodate the change.

I did not see a recent thread about this, and due to a lack of a search bar for the vizzed board, I do not know if one has been made. And I admit ignorance to the process of adding games and patches to this site, so I apologize if I am asking for something that is beyond your means to do. I also apologize for any inconveniences caused by this thread and my request, and I take responsibility for it.

Well this has more to do with how much free time Davideo7 has then anything else I think.
As you might know, finding translation patches that are as close to 100% complete as possible can be tricky, then you have to patch the game, test it, upload it, make a new page for it.
Another issue can be that if the translation isnt at 100% and is still being worked on then it would sometimes be better to just wait for the 100% complete version as save files can have issues going from a 50% patched game to a 80% patched game, for example.

DarkHyren : Thanks for the info. I do hope to see more translated games, but I now realize that a lot of work is required for that.

Still, is it alright if the vizzed community look for and bring attention to 100% complete translation patches for games that are on this site? I'm not going to demand that the patches be added, but is it alright if we at least bring awareness of them? That way, the staff doesn't have to look for them, and can focus on the site.

Oh yeah, you can do that for sure.
Maybe even do a little review of how good each translation is as well.

I'd say the best place would be either in Retro Game Room - Help, Updates & Discussion or Retro Game Room - Game Discussion.
Not sure which it would best suit though, it is about adding content so Help, Updates & Discussion is good for that but since it is also reviewing and talking about the game and it's translation then Game Discussion suits as well.
Up to you which section, and if the thread goes in such a way that it looks like it should be somewhere else then someone will move it for you

Looks good. On the matter of direct links I think it's ok if it's a link to the patch authors website or to safe sites like romhackingdotnet but apart from that it's tricky to tell.
Bascially maybe just put up a caution stating that you dont personally know if the links are safe or not so people should visit at their own risk.
And of course you can say which ones you have tested yourself as safe links.
