OK, so if you pick an older FF (at this point 7 could be considered an old one because its technology is outdated) which one would you have remade with today's technology? You know, voice acting, full 3D moving cameras, possibly the ADB System, etc... FFX and XII technology.

For me I'd say FFVI. Best one in the series in my opinion (and the longest)... For me it defined what Final Fantasy is, and I think it deserves not just a little re-release (ala PSX) but a full-on remake so that it could have graphics and sound that match the polished storyline, ya know? Same songs and such, so that it'd be familiar, but just totally orchestrated and stuff. (Listening to the "Pray" theme on the ending right now...I LOVE that part...)

Plus I'd just love to see all the characters in the famous scenes in full 3D, you know? Not just little snippets of it like in FF Anthology. I wanna see the scene with Locke & Rachel, I wanna see when Celes wakes up in the World of Chaos, and I wanna see Terra throw her hair back in the ending on the airship!

Sheez, this is going from "which FF" to "OK, I wanna start a petition to get them to make this!"

How about FF9........... my suggestion would be to take out the suck.

FF VI would be good and FF VII as well. Final Fantasy IV would be cool as well. But I think there is another Square game that I want to see a remake of as well.... Chrono Trigger.

I would go FFVII because it is the only one in the entire series that had an interesting storyline. It stuck the whole game so you could never get confused about why your doing something in it. Or maybe its because i've played the game 100's of times and there is nothing that i don't know about it....

FF7 totaly. Its the best one..

FF VI has a very good story as well. FF IV isn't bad just not as developed as VI or VII.

I agree with the Chrono Trigger remake idea...that's my favorite Square game by far.

Yeah, Chrono Trigger would be AWESOME in a remake with voices and all... But no little-kid-style characters (like when Crono, Marle and Lucca were shown in Chrono Cross)... I'd want them looking more realistic. Marle is one of the hottest videogame characters there is, but when they showed her in Chrono Cross, she looked 4 years old. I felt like a freaking pedo.

Personally I thought VII's story got too weird with Cloud being confused about who he is, and who is a clone of whom and whatever. There was a lot about that game I didn't get, and I played through it like 50 times. I played through FFVI once and understood it. LOL

A remake of FF6 would be great, but I don't want any voice acting. Textboxes are much better, IMO.

What???? You don't watch movies on Silent with Closed-Caption enabled, do you? I don't understand, then, why you'd want to play a game with text boxes instead of voice acting. They're supposed to be like a movie, IMO.

I know, but textboxes are so... convinient. I think the voice acting was bad, especially in FFX2. Just have a look at the first time you're in Zanarkand, and you need that password. When you meet the first goon, there's a little "movie", and it's very, very bad. Especially when Rikku shouts "monkey!", it's pathetic...

And it might be because I'm much more interested in the game than the movie. FFX and especially FFX2 had a lot movies and lacked game. I'm more interested in the background music than the characters' voices. Also, in older FF's with no voice acting, I get to imagine their voices myself, and the more I can imagine myself, the better.

I mean if they remade FF VI or FF VII or any of the other FF's and they gave a character a stupid voice then that could almost ruin that character.

Also what would they do in FF VII when there is that string of special characters for when Barret swears really badly? I mean would you just hear a loub beep to cover that part?

Personally I'd go with what Working Designs did on the Lunar games... In the outtakes, when an actor curses, there's just a loud sound effect to cover it up... The sound effects are pretty random, but that's part of the humor.

In this one show I watch on occasion, Garage Takeover (it's about totally rebuilding ratty garages), whenever someone curses on there, you hear a construction-related sound effect (a buzzsaw or whatever) that covers up the sound. Could be kinda funny.
