I was waiting to use my ps3 a couple days ago so I decidid to watch spongebob since nothing else was on, my brothers wanted to watch it so I had to wait till the end of the episode to use it. By the end of the episode, I saw that mr krabs started counterfiting money ( if you want to watch it it's the newspaper episode)

Do you think it was right for a kids show to be showing this, i don't. That could be encouraging kids to do that to do that.

Well, since it is a toon, and not a real thing, I think it really depends on the person like what people have been talking about like Should Kids Play Rated Teens or above thing.

Well Spongebob is made for kids, and it is made for kids to laugh and entertain, then it really depends on the kids.

If you think that is wrong, and you are trying to be motherly of preventing your kids. who are growing up, then be it.

I just don't think it is wrong, but I think it is just dumb to do something based of a toon. It is like "Why are you counterfiting money," and the kid says, " Because I wanted to be like Mr. Krabs."

It sounds dumb, and if that's the way that you eans money, I just think that is wrong. I mean, some kids know what's right from wrong, well they get ideas of doing bad things, but they probab;y not do it.

Anyways, it really depends on the person and the way they looks at it.

i didn't think of anything about it first,but my friend started talking about basically the same thing happening to him and brought the subject up... that was about 4 months ago.

BreakDown : yeah, i guess it really does depend on the person. like those kids around 7 who act like their favorite cartoon characters.

I do believe Mr. Krabbs got in trouble for doing it so who cares. They showed the consequences of doing it. The worst thing I've seen on Spongebob is probably the episode where they go on a panty raid. Most younger kids wouldn't understand it though and it was funny to the adults watching. Yes, I watch spongebob on a regular basis.

Yeah. I saw this episode too. I like how the fasle articles come back to bite him in the butt at the end of the episode. And Krabs counterfeitting money could've been great if they had written it so it got him in trouble. But considering it's just kids, they'll learn right and wrong before they have the opportunity/ability to immitate the act. So whether or not it was on the show doesn't matter, if you know right from wrong and you're going to do wrong, a children's cartoon (especially Spongebob) won't effect your decision.

heh heh heh, well to make this post not be spam I better add something to the conversation.
This isn't the first time he's commited crime. I mean he's stolen pickle barrels, lawn mowers, and hair curlers. (all in one episode!!!!) Plus, it is meant to entertain kids. Even kids who think counterfiting money is fun!

Well i would like to think that if my kid tried to do something as complicated as that, she would have found a better source than spongebob to learn it from.
also, anyone who watches spongebob even kids i dont think could be too influenced by it too much. its too silly.

gameface138 : I agree, the show is sort of silly to take seriously but when I watched it as a kid with the anenome (spelling?) dancing I did not get it but now when I saw it again I was sort of laughing. Little kids dont really get those references so it is not such a big of a deal.

I don't think its too heavily suggested that he counterfeited the money but not really unless they toned it down a bit
