Well sometimes I do, but generally not in particular because I don't like dealing with multiple personalities at one time if they're all indirectly contentious.

Well, I like them a little, but I always fear I will do something wrong at the party. So, I feel ok about them sometimes, at my best friends' parties I feel better, at other parties I feel like I should always stay alert. My parties, I just... kinda don't like. Just... it feels awkward to open gifts in front of other people. Kinda like Christmas, but no one else is there, so all the attention is on me.

I detest birthday parties. Call me boring, call me mean, but I just don't like them. They seem pointless to me. They are more of a reminder of how much time someone has lost, to me. And they seem so impersonal to me, so many people saying "Happy Birthday" all day like some broken record. People plastering on smiles on their faces as if there was nothing wrong with the world. Then there is always a person who's running around making sure everything is perfect. They probably aren't having much fun. This probably is very pessimistic of me but these are my thoughts. That Birthday parties are just a reminder of our impending deaths. Of course I also think that death is something to be celebrated, death being the ultimate salvation, death being the goal of every life.
I'm not sure if I'm crazy or just need more sleep right now but this is what I started thinking after I saw this thread. Wow, that was long compared to what I usually do.

i like birthday parties... when they are for me . although if it were for a little kid, id feel awkward. but if it were for someone older... well id feel the same haha jk its ok i guess.

I have a blast with birthday parties. As long as they are not my own. When the kids I work with have birthdays I'm all about throwing a big to due. But when it comes to my own.. I just have bad luck were they are concerned, something messed up always happens.

Almost every birthday party that I have been too I have enjoyed, especially if it's a friend's (that's when I let the crazy out). But even people I don't know too well I often enjoy (unless they're not nice and I'm forced to go). But yeah, some of my funnest times have been at birthday parties.

I don't mind going to birthday parties, I especially like going to birthday parties of people in my family, but I don't like having birthday parties myself for the reason that I do not like being the center of attention, it makes me feel antsy and uncomfortable.
