Don't EVER use ANY movie to try to generalize or prepare you for anything in the military. That is, unless it is a military training video. It is respectable to join up and it shows your patriotism. I myself am going to joing the Wisconsin Army National Guards as soon as i am able to(for those who don't know (which is everybody) thats infantry)

I'll tell ya one thing, not everyone has the personality to be in the military. My friend went into the Marines... a year later during a phone conversation, he said going into the Marines was the biggest mistake of his life. He doesn't have the personality for it. nyah.

I wish you luck, OniSlayer. ^^

I could never find myself in the military either, unless it would be something like intellegence. Im not exactly built for the rigorous training as it is, im not overweight or weak but im short which limits my physical power lol.

Besides not being able to take a life im not very patriotic either, good luck Oni.

I was raised by a strict dad. He raised me by the morals it takes to be in the military. Plus the national guard pays 80% of your college. Plus you get a huge bonus after your basic training. All you have to do is one week of drill a month and 2 weeks in junes for AT(annual training) its a sweet ride boys.

jimmy that is the stupidest and most ignorant thing i have heard come out of your mouth to this point........... unless it was mike posting on your thing. In either case, your dumb.

I would much rather die fighting for my country. America would be a far stronger nation if everybody thought like me half of the time.

Stop listening to bush? He is good. I don't understand why his opinion polls are going down. NOTHING has changed in the last month.

I dont see how its Bush's fault that Australia joined the U.S in Iraq. How would we stop listening to Bush, how would any country go about not listening to it's leader? Im really getting annoyed with people making stupid statements and not backing up what they say with facts. Maybe you hate Bush, but does b****ing about it do any good? In some situations you should just deal with it.

If people were willing to give their lives up for our country we would have a much stronger military, anymore people go in mostly for the benefits which to me shouldnt be a valid reason.

Reply to Cid: Death is something you risk when you join the Marines, of course its in no way inevitable. Our forces are very well equipped and if they aren't somebody will do something about it(Like the issue of soliders having armored vehicles).

Australlia "went to war"?????
*holds back a laugh*
Australlia sent about 1370 soldiers. If you think about it, that isn't 'going to war'. But don't get me wrong, all the countries we have in this thing, the better. Its just not a full scale Ausie involvement. The United States is still carrying this on its back for the most part.
Oh, and bush didn't make australlia do anything. They chose to. It was a good decision.

I also believe that the number of US troops has stayed the same
Also the casualty numbers have sloped off.
