I have heard a whisper that a home brew version of Final Fantasy X exists on the NES, I have done some digging and found a couple of site's that say they have the ROM, but i begrudge paying for a game that is not in cartridge or disk form.

I have also found a couple of video's on You Tube but do not know if they are fake or not, so all i want to know is.....

Has anybody heard of this before?

Has anybody played it?

Is it any good?

I had heard the same as you. I had done very little to see if it was true but I asked around alot. From what I knew it was a fake or a misgame or something of the sort. I do not know if this is for all of the ones but for the most part I believe it was fake or not true. Though I maybe wrong if someone does have the game or know for sure.

It's real, and I have the rom around here somewhere.
But the game was only a beta and from what I recall it only lasts till the end of the first dungeon.
It's a good starting block, but there would need to be major work done to make it a full fledged game.
But I'd rather see a nes FFX then a nes FF7, but there probally are not enough people that would agree with me and could finish the game sadly
