A huge pet peeve of mine in general is when controls don't work in games. I don't mean that I always blame the controls when I lose either. I mean when the game genuinely don't respond correctly.

Case in point, I'm a huge Guitar Hero fan, and sometimes, at least on the PS2 Version, if you are playing a phrase where you are hitting a lot of buttons and then try to activate Star Power when you losing during a crazy solo, it won't register the guitar tilt and you lose unless you stop hitting buttons, however I don't think this is the case if you hit the select button to activate Star Power.

I couldn't tell you how many times I've failed in Jordan or Through the Fire and Flames because I'll have the controller vertical for 10 seconds through a crazy solo and the Star Power refuses to go off, causing me to lose, then beat the controller off of my head while screaming at the TV.

Also, just recently I played through Final Fantasy VII again, and I did the battle with Ruby Weapon. I spend roughly an hour beating her down, only to beat her and have the battle not end, with the only option for me to run and have her disappear from the world map. I just restarted my save.

I've had lots of WTF moments in games. In order to summarize them all, I would say they all have to do with me playing the same level on the same game for literally 6 hours because I can't beat it, than when I finally am about to beat it, the system freezes on me!!

One notable "holy $#!%" moment in gaming for me was the first time I fought the Shadow Devil in MegaMan X5. That boss is abhorly difficult, but I managed to get him all the way down to 1hp... and die. Four times in a row, this happened, before I beat him.

Another one was the first time I played through Final Fantasy VI. (Advance) I was dong relatively well throughout the game, I had only lost twice, before reaching the Floating Continent. FFVI's Floating Continent is nothing short of a hellhole, and a died countless times before reaching the end of the place- and it's boss, the Ultima Weapon, which killed me so many times over the course of the FIVE MONTHS I spent fighting him, I would up calling him the hardest boss I've ever fought.

A very damn "holy c**p!" moment for me was when I was playing Megaman X4 PC as X in the Ultimate Armor. I got to fight Sigma in 3rd form. I have taken half of he big robot's health. Then the ugly face in the bottom left corner have sucked me and launched the rocks. I had EMPTY Sub-Tanks -ALL of them- and then I died. Luckily I had lots of lives but I gave up to refill the sub-tanks again. Then fighted the 8 bosses again and got to Sigma. Again I died in the 3rd form, which I think it's one of the most difficult bosses in Megaman Series...

You are right, though- Final Sigma is _VERY_ tough.

Hoochman : Besides it sucking sucking somuch thats actually funny, but that would piss off any gamer. As long as you have things to say then i could probably sympothise. Some times games are cruel, and win that happens you just got to keep trying until you beat the totaly gay part your stuck on. For that is but one law of gaming. If you quit, don't give up, try again when ever you feel your ready to kick ass!

I remember getting stuck in a wall in one of the Pokemon games. I can't remember which one, but I had done so much without saving so I had to turn the game off and lose it all

Another major "holy $#!@" moment for me occured during my first playthrough of MegaMan Battle Network. (the first one) I had just finished the Power Plant stage, and I wanted to take on most other Netnavis just to see if I could get any good battle chips.

I got to SharkMan.exe, and I figured it would be a pretty easy, straightforward fight.

... It took me 3 and a half hours and probably over a hundred deaths to beat him. Because of that, I call him the hardest boss in the game. (He is anyway, regardless of number of deaths, because pretty much every other boss in BN1 is easy as pie)

A WTF moment? I would have to select A time when I was watching someone play, instead of actually playing myself. It was Silent Hill 2, some already know what I mean(lol). Well he's going down the hall spooky and all that, It's Silent Hill they did a good job of creeping me out, And he walked into that room and what followed... Let's just say... Pyramid Headis F**ked up and Mannequin Got Her Groove Back... lol.

And an example of a WTF moment I have ownership of, Halo 3 Campaign... I hit a checkpoint right as I died... So for about five minute I stared at me dying over and over and over again each a little different and with no way to really stop it. I had a sandwich... Which I ate as I watched myself die.

Crono's WTF moment was when he was at his final battle with Lavos in Chrono Trigger. He defeated the giant spiky version and he was all like "Yeah, awesome! Crono beat the game, woo!" -Another cutscene- "WHAT?! Crono has to go inside the body now!?" -Goes inside, saves, and travels more- "ANOTHER BOSS?! WTF?!" -defeats boss with little health- "YES! NOW Crono has beaten the game!" -ANOTHER cutscene- "OMG!" -Another Boss battle- "But, we didn't get to save!" -Loses- "WTF?!" That final boss is annoying, U

My WTF moment was in the Avaatar videogame...

I thought that I had finished the game and suddenly a huge impossible last level appeared...

I never could finish the game

mine would be SSX3 for the gamecube. during a slopestyle run on peak 2, one of the big challenges is to get to the bottome within a certain time limit. i literally sat in front of the t.v. for 8 and 1/2 hours and SEVERAL times got right at the finish line and ran out of time............*screams loud enough that the grand canyon opens up another mile*

joebab : Yeah Pokemon games are fun, and you got to be honeest any gamer has played a pokemon game. Anyway you used then walkthrough walls cheat code on Pokemon Pearl,Diamond,Platinum. Didn't you? Well i used it before so i could catch... you know the little hedgehog grass ozone protecter guy?! well i used it to et to his island and catch him.

Zelda cross-dressing. LOL.

One of those moments happen with this websites games. When I started Super Smash Bros. (N64) in the intro, almost all the characters body parts, and faces sometimes look deformed. When I saw Pikachu's face all stretched out my brother and I started laughing!

Mine was when I was playing sonic unleashed for the ps3 and I had 1 life left, I beat dark gaia. I thought I was done, but then, it went to a 2nd faze. I emideatily failed. I never beat it. Right now it's in gamestop.
